Kong Ra ( th, กงหรา, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Srinagarindra, Mueang Phatthalung, Khao Chaison, and Tamot of Phatthalung Province, Palian and Yan Ta Khao of Trang province. History The minor district (''king amphoe'') was created on 1 October 1975, when the three ''tambons'' Kong Ra, Khlong Chaloem, and Charat were split off from Mueang Phatthalung district. Thesaban
Thesaban ( th, เทศบาล, , ) are the municipalities of Thailand. There are three levels of municipalities: city, town, and sub-district. Bangkok and Pattaya are special municipal entities not included in the ''thesaban'' system. The municipalities assume some of the responsibilities which are assigned to the districts (''amphoe'') or communes (''tambon'') for non-municipal (rural) areas. Muban
Muban ( th, หมู่บ้าน; , ) is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as 'hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). , there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. As of the 1990 census, the average village consisted of 144 households or 746 persons. Nomenclature ''Muban'' may function as one word, in the sense of a hamlet or village, and as such may be shortened to ''ban''. Tambon
''Tambon'' ( th, ตำบล, ) is a local governmental unit in Thailand. Below district (''amphoe'') and province (''changwat''), they form the third administrative subdivision level. there were 7,255 tambons, not including the 180 ''khwaeng'' of Bangkok, which are set at the same administrative level, thus every district contains eight to ten tambon. King Amphoe
An amphoe (sometimes also ''amphur'', th, อำเภอ, )—usually translated as "district"—is the second level administrative subdivision of Thailand. Groups of ''amphoe'' or districts make up the provinces, and are analogous to counties. The chief district officer is ''Nai Amphoe'' (). ''Amphoe'' are divided into ''tambons'', ( th, ตำบล), or sub-districts. Altogether Thailand has 928 districts, including the 50 districts of Bangkok, which are called '' khet'' (เขต) since the Bangkok administrative reform of 1972. The number of districts in provinces varies, from only three in the smallest provinces, up to the 50 urban districts of Bangkok. Also the sizes and population of districts differ greatly. Yan Ta Khao ( th, ย่านตาขาว, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Trang province, Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Palian, Kantang, Mueang Trang and Na Yong of Trang Province; Srinagarindra and Kong Ra of Phatthalung province. History The minor district ('' king amphoe'') Yan Ta Khao was created on 1 January 1948 as a subordinate of Kantang district. Palian District
Palian ( th, ปะเหลียน, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the southern part of Trang province, Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Kong Ra, Tamot, and Pa Bon of Phatthalung province, Khuan Kalong, Manang, and Thung Wa of Satun province, Hat Samran and Yan Ta Khao of Trang Province. History Originally named ''Yong Sata'' (หยงสตา) or ''Tan Yong Sata'' (ตันหยงสตา; Kelantan-Pattani Malay means ' Mango Plum Cape'), it was renamed ''Palian'' in 1939. Tamot ( th, ตะโหมด, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Kong Ra, Khao Chaison, Bang Kaeo, and Pa Bon of Phatthalung Province, Palian of Trang province. Khao Chaison District
Khao Chaison ( th, เขาชัยสน, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise) Bang Kaeo, Tamot, Kong Ra, and Mueang Phatthalung of Phatthalung Province, Krasae Sin of Songkhla province. The east of the district is on the shore of Thale Luang lake. History The district dates back to the minor district (''king amphoe'') Lampam (ลำปำ), created in 1923 as a subordinate of Mueang Phatthalung District. It consisted of the two sub-districts Lampam and Han Po. Srinagarindra District
Srinagarindra ( th, ศรีนครินทร์, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Si Banphot, Khuan Khanun, Mueang Phatthalung, and Kong Ra of Phattalung Province; Yan Ta Khao and Na Yong of Trang province. History The minor district ('' king amphoe'') was established on 26 June 1996, when it was split off from Mueang Phatthalung district. The new district became effective on 15 July 1996. At first named Chumphon after the main ''tambon'', it was renamed Srinagarindra on 30 December 1996. On 15 May 2007, all 81 minor districts were upgraded to full districts.
