Konak Tunnel
Konak Tunnel ( tr, Konak Tüneli) is a road tunnel in Konak district of in İzmir, Turkey. It was opened to traffic in 2015. The tunnel is situated in Konak, İzmir connecting the Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard in Konak with Yeşildere Street in Yeşildere neighborhood in the city's south. With the building of the tunnel, the traffic congestion in Konak area was significantly eased. Its construction began on 23 September 2011, and it was opened on 25 May 2015 by Prime minister Ahmet Davutoğlu. It has twin bores in length carrying two lanes of traffic in each direction. The middle of the tunnel is at a depth of . The construction cost planned was 150 million. Homeros Boulevard
Homeros Boulevard ( tr, Homeros Bulvarı) is a partially completed thoroughfare in İzmir, Turkey. The route is planned to be an long "express route" connecting central Konak to the İzmir Coach Terminal in south Bornova, as well as the O-5 and O-30 motorways. The first section of the boulevard, a long section in northwest Buca, opened on 14 December 2013 with an official ceremony. The boulevard was then named ''Homeros Boulevard'' after the legendary ancient author who once lived in western Anatolia. The boulevard starts at the east end of the Konak Tunnel, at a junction with the D.300/ D.550 highway, and heads east.
