Komine Castle
is a Japanese castle located in what is now the city of Shirakawa, southern Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Throughout the middle to later Edo period, Komine Castle was home to the Abe clan, ''daimyō'' of Shirakawa Domain. It was also referred to as or simply . The castle is one of the 100 Fine Castles of Japan, and in 2007 was designated a National Historic Site. It should not be confused with the older Shirakawa Castle also located in Shirakawa, Fukushima, also known as or . The castle grounds are also a noted venue for viewing sakura in spring. Layout Komine Castle is located on a long and narrow hill extending 500 meters from east to west, located on a bend of the Abukuma River, which forms part of the natural defenses of the site. Shane Komine
Shane Kenji Komine (born October 18, 1980 in Honolulu, Hawaii) is a former right-handed Major League Baseball pitcher. He made his major league debut against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, (6 IP, 1 ER, 4 BB, 1 K). He is the third American-born player of full Japanese ancestry in major league history, after Ryan Kurosaki and Lenn Sakata. Amateur career Komine graduated from Kalani High School in Honolulu in 1998. He attended the University of Nebraska with a major in Physics from 1999–2002 and became the Cornhuskers' ace pitcher. After going 10-0 his senior year of , he was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 9th round of the notorious " Moneyball" draft. Takayuki Komine
is a Japanese former football player. Playing career Komine was born in Higashimatsuyama on April 25, 1974. After graduating from Juntendo University, he joined the Japan Football League club Tokyo Gas (later ''FC Tokyo'') in 1998. He played many matches as center back with Sandro during the first season. However his opportunity to play decreased behind Tetsuya Ito and Teruyuki Moniwa from 2002. In August 2003, he moved to Vegalta Sendai and played many matches. In 2004, he moved to Kashiwa Reysol. However he could hardly play in the match. In 2005, he moved to the J2 club Tokushima Vortis. He played many matches as center back for the first time in four years. In 2006, he moved to the Regional Leagues club FC Gifu.
