Komiko
Komiko was a short-lived electronic music studio group signed to SAM Records, an independent label in New York City. According to Allmusic, Carol Williams was once a member of this group but the vocals are attributed to unnamed female personnel, most likely a guest vocalist. Their so-far only song "Feel Alright," written by Nick Braddy, was a collaboration between record producers Darryl Payne and Gary Turnier. Record sleeve note ascribes production credit to Totally Funked Up Productions, Inc. which is a company based in Delaware. History A number of personnel in this group were behind other short-lived groups of the same genre including Vicky D, Sinnamon and Kreamcicle. Both Vicky D and Komiko had Gary R. Turnier as their producer while Payne produced Sinnamon's material. SAM Records
SAM Records was a New York City, New York-based independent record label, record company active between 1977–1983 and 1989–1991. The label was operated by Sam Weiss and Daniel Glass, who worked as a Vice President. In the late 1970s, Columbia Records, Columbia, as a Columbia Broadcasting System, CBS subsidiary, had a distribution deal with SAM for about 18 months. The most successful artists of SAM include John Davis and the Monster Orchestra, Glen Adams, Glen Adams Affair, Gary's Gang and Komiko. Carol Williams (disco Musician)
Carol Williams, born in Montclair, New Jersey, United States, is a vocalist and songwriter who achieved success with her disco songs in the 1970s. She was the first female artist signed to the disco label Salsoul Records. Carol Williams was once a member of the post-disco/garage house studio project called Komiko. Career Williams began her career working with producer Vincent Montana, Jr. and the Salsoul Orchestra. Her most notable recording, " More", was very popular at a time when disco was just breaking into the mainstream. The success of "More" led to the ''Lectric Lady'' album, released on Salsoul Records in 1976 and featured the singles "Come Back" and "Love Is You". A one-hit wonder or viral hit is any entity that achieves mainstream popularity, often for only one piece of work, and becomes known among the general public solely for that momentary success. Nervous Records is an American record label specializing in underground house and hip hop, founded in 1991. As of February 2022, Nervous is releasing several house and techno tracks on a weekly basis.
