JSC Komiinteravia (russian: ОАО "Комиинтеравиа") was an airline based in Syktyvkar, Komi Republic, Russia. It operated scheduled domestic passenger services, as well as passenger and cargo charter flights to domestic and international destinations. Its main base was Syktyvkar Airport. Parent company UTair Aviation reorganised Komiinteravia into a new airline UTair Express, which received a certificate in commercial air transport operations on Antonov An-24 aircraft in December 2006. History The airline was established in March 1996 and started operations in July 1997. In 2004 UTair gained control of more than 70% of Komiinteravia (carried 200,000 passengers in 2003). UTair Express
UTair Express was a Russian regional airline headquartered in Syktyvkar, Komi, and a subsidiary of UTair Aviation. Its main base was Syktyvkar Airport. It ceased operations on 10 June 2015. History UTair Express' predecessor Komiinteravia was established in March 1996 and started operations in July 1997. In 2004 UTair gained control of more than 70% of Komiinteravia. UTair planned to set up a new regional division using its subsidiary Komiinteravia that was to operate as UTair Express using Antonov An-24 and ATR 42-300 aircraft. Syktyvkar (, rus, Сыктывка́р, p=sɨktɨfˈkar; kv, Сыктывкар) is the capital city of the Komi Republic in Russia, as well as its largest city. It is also the capital of the Syktyvkar Urban Okrug. Until 1930, it was known as Ust-Sysolsk, after the Sysola River. Etymology The city's name comes from ''Syktyv'', the Komi name for the Sysola River, plus ''kar'', meaning "city". The Antonov An-24 (Russian/Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-24) (NATO reporting name: Coke) is a 44-seat twin turboprop transport/passenger aircraft designed in 1957 in the Soviet Union by the Antonov Design Bureau and manufactured by Kyiv, Irkutsk and Ulan-Ude Aviation Factories. The Yakovlev Yak-40 (russian: Яковлев Як-40; NATO reporting name: Codling) is a regional jet designed by Yakovlev. The trijet's maiden flight was in 1966, and it was in production from 1967 to 1981. Introduced in September 1968, the Yak-40 has been exported since 1970. The Tupolev Tu-134 (NATO reporting name: Crusty) is a twin-engined, narrow-body jet airliner built in the Soviet Union for short and medium-haul routes from 1966 to 1989. Ukhta (russian: Ухта́; kv, Уква, ''Ukva'') is an important industrial town in the Komi Republic of Russia. Population: It was previously known as ''Chibyu'' (until 1939). ATR 42
The ATR 42 is a regional airliner produced by Franco-Italian manufacturer ATR, with final assembly in Toulouse, France. On 4 November 1981, the aircraft was launched with ATR, as a joint venture between French Aérospatiale (now Airbus) and Aeritalia (now Leonardo S.p.A.). The ATR 42-300 performed its maiden flight on 16 August 1984 and type certification was granted during September 1985.
