Kolkata Museum Of Modern Art
Kolkata Museum of Modern Art (KMOMA) is a proposed art museum to be built in New Town, Kolkata. The KMOMA had been estimated to cost about Rs 500 crore and is set to be built on a 10-acre plot in the nearby township of New Town by the state government, is designed by acclaimed Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, who created the Bird's Nest stadium for the Beijing Olympics. The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee had laid the foundation stone for this project in November 2013. Location The KMOMA is located along the Major Arterial Road (part of Biswa Bangla Sarani) in Action Area - II of New Town at . New Town is a planned satellite city of Kolkata, India. It comes under North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to Kolkata and covered by New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA). HIDCO planned developing infrastructure like - roads, drains, sewerage line, water supply lines, major embellishment works and executed constructions like - buildings, projects, parks, museum, subways, over-bridges in New Town. This new information technology and residential hub is being developed on the north-eastern fringes of Kolkata. New Town Eco Park
Eco Park (or Prakriti Tirtha) is an urban park in New Town, Kolkata, New Town, Kolkata Metropolitan Area, Greater Kolkata, India. The park is situated on a plot and is surrounded by a waterbody with an island in the middle. The park was conceptualised by Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee in July 2011. West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) is the overarching body coordinating the construction of the park, along with different other government bodies responsible for implementation of different works inside the park. The park has been divided into three broad parts; 1) ecological zones like wetlands, grasslands, and urban forest, 2) theme gardens and open spaces, 3) and urban recreational spaces. The Eco Park is further divided into different sub-parts according to the different types of fauna planted.
