Koh Seow Chuan
Koh Seow Chuan (born 1939, in Singapore) is a founder of DP Architects, a philatelist, and philanthropist. Biography Education and career Koh graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Melbourne in 1963. He worked in Malayan Architects Co-Partnership before joining William S.W. Lim and Tay Kheng Soon to establish Design Partnership in 1967. Design Partnership was subsequently renamed DP Architects in 1975. Koh, a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, was given the RIBA International Award in 2005 and the President's Design Award in 2006 for his work on Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. His other notable projects include People's Park Complex. Philately He is an avid collector of stamps, historical documents, old postcards, cultural artefacts, maps, photographs, antique books and art pieces, and has exhibited or donated many of these. Lim Tze Peng
Lim Tze Peng (, born 28 September 1921) is a Singaporean artist who is a teacher by training and profession. He was awarded a Cultural Medallion in 2003 in recognition of his contribution to the country's art and culture. In June 2021, it was reported that he was still producing art at the age of 99. Biography Lim was born in 1921 to a family of pig and chicken farmers in Pasir Ris. He is the eldest of seven children. Lim studied at Guangyang Primary School and Chung Cheng High School. In 1949, Lim became a primary school teacher at Xin Min School and then became principal in 1951. He remained as principal till he retired in 1981. Painting career Lim started to learn to paint in his twenties and after his retirement, started to paint professionally. Wong Keen (, born 23 November 1942) is a Visual art of Singapore, Singaporean painter who was primarily trained in New York. He is known for being one of the first Singaporean artists to be educated in the United States and for his syncretic body of work that melds together the sensibilities of Ink wash painting, Chinese literati painting and the New York School (art), New York School. His practice, unusual for his generation, has led to him being described as "Singapore's first abstract expressionist". From 1969 to 1996, Wong also founded and operated Keen Gallery in New York, a framing studio and exhibition space.
