Bev Koester
Charles Beverley "Bev" Koester, (January 13, 1926 – February 1, 1998) was a Canadian naval officer, civil servant and Clerk of the House of Commons of Canada. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, he graduated from the Royal Canadian Naval College at Royal Roads, British Columbia in 1944. He served during the Second World War in Scotland, and in 1945 was involved in the liberation of Oslo and Copenhagen. He stayed in the Navy until 1960, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Alberta and taught history at the University of Regina, later becoming head of the history department. Bob Koester
Robert Gregg Koester (October 30, 1932 – May 12, 2021) was an American record producer and businessman who was the founder and owner of Delmark Records, a jazz and blues independent record label. He also operated the Jazz Record Mart in Chicago, which he billed as the "World's Largest Jazz and Blues Specialty Store", and later a record store specializing in blues and jazz in Irving Park, Chicago. Early life Koester was born in Wichita, Kansas, on October 30, 1932. He began collecting and trading classic 78 rpm records when he was in high school. He studied business and cinematography at Saint Louis University starting in 1951. Career While in university, Koester sold records by mail order from his dormitory room. Charles Roman Koester
Charles R. Koester (September 16, 1915 – December 24, 1997) was an American Bishop of the Catholic Church. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of St. Louis from 1971 to 1991. Biography Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, Charles Roman Koester was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of St. Louis on December 20, 1941. He was at St Ambrose Church in the early 1940s and help guide a young Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola. Father Koester continued to advise Berra for the rest of his life. On January 2, 1971 Pope Paul VI appointed him as the Titular Bishop of ''Suacia'' and Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis. He was consecrated by Cardinal John Joseph Carberry on February 11, 1971. Hans Ludwig Raimund von Koester (29 April 1844 – 21 February 1928) was a German naval officer who served in the Prussian Navy and later in the Imperial German Navy. He retired as a Grand Admiral. Helmut Heinrich Koester (December 18, 1926 – January 1, 2016) was an American scholar who specialized in the New Testament and early Christianity at Harvard Divinity School. His research was primarily in the areas of New Testament interpretation, history of early Christianity, and archaeology of the early Christian period. Life Koester was born in Hamburg. He studied under Rudolf Bultmann at the University of Marburg, Germany, after being released from a POW camp there in 1945. He submitted his dissertation in 1954 and then became an assistant to Günther Bornkamm at the University of Heidelberg from 1954-1956.
