Kocaeli Ice Rink
Kocaeli B.B. Ice Arena ( tr, Kocaeli B.B. Olimpik Buz Sporları Salonu), formerly Kocaeli Ice Rink, is an indoor ice skating and ice hockey arena located at Şirintepe neighborhood of Izmit in Kocaeli Province, Turkey. It was opened in 1999 and has a seating capacity of 3,600 spectators. İzmit () is a district and the central district of Kocaeli province, Turkey. It is located at the Gulf of İzmit in the Sea of Marmara, about east of Istanbul, on the northwestern part of Anatolia. The Turkish Ice Hockey Super League ( tr, Türkiye Buz Hokeyi Süper Ligi, abbreviated TBHSL) is the highest level of professional ice hockey in Turkey. Turkish Ice Hockey Federation ( tr, Türkiye Buz Hokeyi Federasyonu, TBHF) is the governing body of the ice hockey sport in Turkey. It was established in 1991 as the Turkish Ice Sports Federation ( tr, Türkiye Buz Sporları Federasyonu, TBSF). It is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since May 1, 1991. The TBHF is based in Ankara and its current chairman is Orhan Duman. TBHF conducts seven ice hockey leagues for men's and women's. The 2013 IIHF World Championship was the 77th event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), held in Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland, between 3–19 May 2013. TV4 and MTV3 served as host broadcasters of the event. The 2013 IIHF U18 World Championship was the 15th IIHF World U18 Championship and was hosted in Sochi, Russia. This was also a test event for the facilities to be used in the 2014 Winter Olympics. The Turkish Women's Ice Hockey League, also known as the Kadınlar Ligi in Turkish, is a women's amateur ice hockey league in Turkey. It is operated under the jurisdiction of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. Each team is allowed to carry two import players per season. The season typically starts in late November – early December and finishes in April.
