Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt Spor Kulübü
The Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt Spor Kulübü, aka Kocaeli BB Kağıtspor, is a multi-sports club sponsored by the Metropolitan Municipality of Kocaeli in Turkey. It was founded in 1937 as "İzmit Kağıtspor", a sports club of the state-owned SEKA Cellulose and Paper Works in Izmit, Kocaeli. Club colors are blue and white. Current club president is Dr. Ali Yeşildal, who is also the chairman of the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation. Since the beginning, İzmit Kağıtspor has operated branches like rowing and sailing and won also many international titles in athletics, wrestling, and boxing. The club merged in 1987 into "Kocaeli Belediyespor" and was renamed. It has expanded quickly since then and is active in 30 sports branches with a total of 2,453 athletes as of 2007, making it one of the biggest sports clubs of Turkey. İzmit
İzmit () is a district and the central district of Kocaeli province, Turkey. It is located at the Gulf of İzmit in the Sea of Marmara, about east of Istanbul, on the northwestern part of Anatolia. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Meryem Erdoğan
Meryem Erdoğan (formerly ''Mariam Tanga'' or ''Mariam Hana Dingo'', born April 24, 1990) is an Ethiopian-born Turkish long-distance runner. In 2012 Erdoğan was banned for two years after doping. Personal life She was born on April 24, 1990, in Ethiopia. Impressed by her countrywoman Elvan Abeylegesse, who became a renowned athlete after acquiring Turkish citizenship, she decided to go to Turkey in order to become an athlete there. In 2006, at age of 16, she illegally immigrated to Turkey via Beirut, Lebanon. She was caught by police in Istanbul, however barely escaped deportation. Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Olympic Trap is a shooting sport discipline contested at the Olympic Games and sanctioned by the International Shooting Sport Federation. Usually referred to simply as "trap", the discipline is also known in the United States as international trap, bunker trap, trench or international clay pigeon. It is considered more difficult than most other trap versions in that the distance to the targets and the speed with which they are thrown are both greater. Olympic Skeet is a variant of skeet shooting, and the specific variant used in the Olympic Games. The discipline is sanctioned by the International Shooting Sport Federation.
