Knut Markhus
Knut Markhus (7 November 1878 – 7 August 1963) was a Norwegian educator and politician. He was born in Skånevik. He edited the newspaper ''Haugesunds Avis'' from 1911 to 1913. In 1913 he founded the folk high school , where he eventually served as headmaster. Skånevik
Skånevik is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. It included the land surrounding both sides of the Skånevikfjorden and its smaller branches: the Åkrafjorden and Matersfjorden in the present-day Etne Municipality and Kvinnherad Municipality. It also included the eastern part of the island of Halsnøya and stretched quite a ways inland all the way to the Folgefonna glacier. Anders Todal (18 March 1883 – 6 March 1956) was a Norwegian teacher, politician and farmer. He was born in Valsøyfjord. He served as mayor of Åsen from 1919 to 1922, and from 1925 to 1931. He was elected to the Storting from 1931 to 1933, representing the Liberal Party in Nord-Trøndelag. He chaired the organization Noregs Mållag from 1932 to 1936. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old.
