''Plateosaurus'' (probably meaning "broad lizard", often mistranslated as "flat lizard") is a genus of plateosaurid dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period, around 214 to 204 million years ago, in what is now Central and Northern Europe. Gresslyosaurus
''Gresslyosaurus'' (meaning "Amanz Gressly's lizard") is a genus of plateosaurian sauropodomorph dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period, around 214 to 204 million years ago, in Switzerland. Taxonomy ''Gresslyosaurus'' was originally dubbed "Dinosaurus gresslyi" by Rütimeyer (1856) on the basis of postcranial remains discovered in the Late Triassic (late Norian-Rhaetian) Knollenmergel of northern Switzerland around 1840 by Amanz Gressly, but that name is a ''nomen nudum'' as it was described in an abstract. ''Dinosaurus'' anyway was already in use for a therapsid, so Rütimeyer (1857) formally described the material as ''Gresslyosaurus ingens''. Lydekker (1888) synonymized ''Gresslyosaurus'' with ''Zanclodon'', but von Huene (1908) removed sauropodomorph material assigned to ''Zanclodon'' (which he assigned to Theropoda) and ''Gresslyosaurus'' along with ''Plateosaurus'' as sauropodomorphs. Halticosaurus
''Halticosaurus'' (pron.:"HAL-tick-oh-SORE-us") is a dubious genus of theropod dinosaur from the late Triassic period (middle Norian stage, around 215.6–208 million years ago). It is known from a single fragmentary fossil specimen of the species ''H. longotarsus'', found in the Middle Stubensandstein formation of what is present-day Germany The only known specimen was poorly preserved and may have been put together from bones of unrelated animals. Further research would be required to determine which of the bones belonged together, and what kind of theropod ''Halticosaurus'' was. However, most of the bones have been lost. For these reasons, ''Halticosaurus'' is considered to be a '' nomen dubium''. Massopoda
Massopoda is a clade of sauropodomorph dinosaurs which lived during the Late Triassic to Late Cretaceous epochs. It was named by paleontologist Adam M. Yates of the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007. Massopoda is a stem-based taxon, defined as all animals more closely related to ''Saltasaurus loricatus'' than to ''Plateosaurus engelhardti''. The name Massopoda, ; , is also contraction of Massospondylidae and Sauropoda, two disparate taxa in the clade. Classification Yates assigned the Massopoda to Plateosauria. ''Tuebingosaurus'' (meaning " Tübingen lizard") is a genus of massopodan sauropodomorph dinosaur from the Late Triassic Trossingen Formation of Germany. The type and only species is ''T. maierfritzorum'', originally identified as a specimen of '' Plateosaurus''. Discovery and naming The holotype, GPIT-PV-30787, also known as "GPIT IV", is a partial postcranial skeleton. It was discovered in 1922 and stored in the paleontological collection of the university of Tübingen. Prosauropoda
Plateosauria is a clade of sauropodomorph dinosaurs which lived during the Late Triassic to the Late Cretaceous. The name Plateosauria was first coined by Gustav Tornier in 1913. The name afterwards fell out of use until the 1980s. Classification Plateosauria is a node-based taxon. In 1998, Paul Sereno defined Plateosauria as the last common ancestor of ''Plateosaurus engelhardti'' and ''Massospondylus carinatus'', and its descendants. Peter Galton and Paul Upchurch in 2004 used a different definition: the last common ancestor of ''Plateosaurus engelhardti'' and ''Jingshanosaurus xinwaensis'', and its descendants. In their cladistic analysis the Plateosauria belonged to the Prosauropoda, and included the Plateosauridae subgroup. In Galton's and Upchurch's study also ''Coloradisaurus'', ''Euskelosaurus'', ''Jingshanosaurus'', ''Massospondylus'', ''Mussaurus'', ''Sellosaurus'', and ''Yunnanosaurus'' proved to be plateosaurians.
