Knockouts Knockdown (2021) was a professional wrestling event produced by Impact Wrestling. It was taped on September 17, 2021 at Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and aired on October 9, 2021 on Impact Plus and YouTube. It was the sixth event in the Knockouts Knockdown chronology, the first event to be held since 2017, and the first to be held since the discontinuation of Impact's One Night Only series in 2019. Ten matches were contested at the event. In the main event, Decay ( Havok and Rosemary) defeated The Influence (Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood) to retain the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship. In other prominent matches, Mercedes Martinez won the Knockouts Knockdown tournament by defeating Tasha Steelz in the final, and Savannah Evans defeated Alisha Edwards, Jordynne Grace, and Kimber Lee in a Monster's Ball match in tribute to Shannon "Daffney" Spruill. Latasha Harris (born April 3, 1987) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to Impact Wrestling under the ring name Tasha Steelz. She is a former Knockouts World Champion and a former two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. She also worked in National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and Ring of Honor (ROH). Heel (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. "The role of a heel is to get 'heat,' which means spurring the crowd to obstreperous hatred, and generally involves cheating and pretty much any other manner of socially unacceptable behavior that will get the job done." In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating (in contrast to the villains who use illegal moves and call in additional wrestlers to do their work for them) while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. Knockout is a term used by Impact Wrestling to refer to its female talent. The term is applied universally to wrestlers, backstage interviewers, and managers/valets. History The term Knockouts is relatively new and was not used when Impact Wrestling (then known as NWA: Total Nonstop Action) debuted in 2002. The name originated from a DVD release in 2006 by the company, ''Knockouts: The Ladies of TNA Wrestling, Vol.1'', which focused on its then-current female stars. This is a list of pay-per-view (PPV) events held by the American professional wrestling promotion Impact Wrestling. From its inception, Impact Wrestling's main output was a two-hour weekly program broadcast exclusively on pay-per-view. Shannon Claire Spruill (July 17, 1975 – September 1, 2021) was an American professional wrestler, wrestling manager and actress better known by her ring name Daffney. Daffney began her professional wrestling career in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1999. In WCW, she was known for her association with David Flair and Crowbar, and she became the second woman (after Madusa) to hold the WCW Cruiserweight Championship before the promotion was purchased by the WWE in early 2001. Monster's Ball Match
A Monster's Ball match is a professional wrestling, hardcore match staged by Impact Wrestling. Originally, the key premise of the match was that all contenders were sequestered alone in a locked room without light, food, or water for 24 hours before the match. This stipulation is intended to induce extreme feelings of aggression in the competitors. Once released, the wrestlers fight one another in a no disqualification match, with the usage of weapons encouraged. Victory can be achieved by pinfall or submission, with the match ending as soon as one wrestler is pinned or submits (there is no elimination format). Due to the hardcore nature of the match, the Monster's Ball typically features numerous high spots.
