''Knock on the Window'' (Hungarian: ''Zörgetnek az ablakon'') is a 1944 Hungarian drama film directed by László Sipos and starring László Szilassy, Éva Kelemen and Margit Ladomerszky. Kelecsényi p.53 It was shot at the Hunnia Studios in Budapest. Synopsis After graduating a young doctor plans to take a position in a private sanatorium, but after witnessing the death of an impoverished young boy from his own village he decides to return home to work on deserving cases. His socially ambitious fiancée breaks off their engagement, but in the village he falls in love with the daughter of the old doctor who shares his sense of mission. László Sipos
László Sipos (1918–1944) was a Hungarian film producer and film director, director. Juhász p.144 He also worked as a location manager and assistant director. Having established himself as a director, he was killed in airstrike, air raid during the Second World War at the age of twenty six. Ferenc Szabó (composer)
Ferenc Szabó (27 December 1902, Budapest4 November 1969, Budapest) was a Hungarian composer. As a communist, Szabó was obliged to emigrate through Berlin (1931) to the USSR (1932). He became a respected figure in Soviet musical life, and found the opportunities to explore common ground between the concert hall and mass music-making on a far higher level. Besides composing a number of mass songs and film scores (notably for Erwin Piscator's ''Revolt of the Fishermen'' (1934), and '' Lúdas Matyi'' (1949)), he transcribed the ''Sinfonietta,'' originally for chamber orchestra, for an orchestra of ''domrï'' (plucked folk instruments). He wrote numerous orchestral works as well and one opera, ''Légy jó mindhalálig'' (1969). He was and remained a committed and staunch Stalinist till the end of his life, and composed many works lauding Soviet premier Joseph Stalin and his accomplishments. Angela Christian is an American actress and singer. Career Christian trained at the Boston Conservatory. In 2000, she made her Broadway debut as Lily in Richard Nelson's '' James Joyce's The Dead''. In 2004, she made her West End debut creating the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's '' The Woman in White'', directed by Trevor Nunn, which she then reprised on Broadway.
