Andreas Kneller
Andreas Kneller (variants: Kniller, Knöller, Knüller) (23 April 1649 – 24 August 1724) was a German composer and organist of the North German school. Life Born in Lübeck, he was the younger brother of portrait painter Sir Godfrey Kneller. Nothing certain is known about his musical education, though he may have learnt from Franz Tunder (1614-1667), organist of St. Mary's Church, Lübeck, or his own uncle Matthias Weckmann (ca. 1616-1674), organist of St. Jacob's Church, Hamburg. In 1667, he became organist of the Marktkirche in Hanover, succeeding Melchior Schildt (1592-1667). In 1685, he moved to Hamburg, where he became organist of the Petrikirche. It was there that he made the acquaintance of Johann Adam Reincken; he went on to marry his daughter Margaretha Maria in 1686. Kneller's son-in-law Johann Jacob Hencke became his assistant in 1717, and succeeded in him in 1723. Kneller was well respected as a musician, and often acted as an examiner of organs and organists. Arthur Kneller
Arthur Harry Kneller (28 April 1894 — 19 July 1969) was an English first-class cricketer and colonial official in Kenya Colony. Cricket and colonial service The son of Harry Kneller, he was born in April 1894 at Kingsclere, Hampshire. He was educated at Ardingly College, where he played for the college cricket team. Kneller served in the First World War, being commissioned into the Royal Garrison Artillery as a second lieutenant in June 1917. Shortly after the conclusion of the war, he was promoted to lieutenant in December 1918. He later played first-class cricket for Hampshire, making his debut against Sussex at Portsmouth in the 1924 County Championship. He played first-class cricket until 1926, making eight appearances. He scored 76 runs in his eight matches, at an average of 8.44 and a highest score of 25 not out. Sir Godfrey Kneller, 1st Baronet (born Gottfried Kniller; 8 August 1646 – 19 October 1723), was the leading portrait painter in England during the late 17th and early 18th centuries, and was court painter to Kingdom of England, English and British monarchs from Charles II of England, Charles II to George I of the United Kingdom, George I. John Kneller
John William Kneller, OAP (October 15, 1916 – July 2, 2009) was an English-American French language professor and scholar, and the fifth President of Brooklyn College. Biography Kneller was born in Oldham, England, to John W. Kneller and Margaret Ann Truslove. He had four older brothers. He immigrated to Worcester, Massachusetts, when he was five years old. He later became a U.S. citizen. He studied at Clark University (B.A.; 1938) and Yale University (M.A., 1948 and Ph.D. in French, 1950). Kneller was a Fulbright Scholar in French literature at the University of Paris in 1949-50. In June 1970 Clark University conferred upon him the degree of Doctor of Letters, Honoris Causa, "in recognition of his fine accomplishments as a teacher, scholar, and administrator and in gratitude for his wise counsel on behalf of the trustees and faculty of Clark University." Brooklyn College is a public university in Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York. Scott Kneller
Scott Kneller (born 1989) in central Australia. He is an Australian freestyle skier. He represented Australia at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Competing in the ski cross, he came seventh. He came second in his 1/8 final, and then in his 1/4 final to qualify for the semifinals. In each race there are four competitors and the top two progress. He then came third in the semi-final and third in the Small Final, for those eliminated in the semifinals. He competed for Australia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in the ski cross events.
