Klosterneuburg
Klosterneuburg () is a town in the Tulln District of the Austrian state of Lower Austria. Frequently abbreviated to Kloburg by locals, it has a population of about 27,500. The Stift Klosterneuburg ( Klosterneuburg Monastery), which was established in 1114 and soon after given to the Augustinians, is of particular historical importance. Geography Klosterneuburg is located on the Danube, immediately north of the Austrian capital Vienna, from which it is separated by the Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg hills of the Vienna Woods range. It has been separated from its twin city of Korneuburg on the opposite bank of the Danube since the river changed course during the Late Middle Ages. Klosterneuburg Monastery
Klosterneuburg Abbey () is a twelfth-century Augustinian monastery of the Catholic Church located in the town of Klosterneuburg in Lower Austria. Overlooking the Danube, just north of the present Vienna city limits at the Leopoldsberg, the monastery was founded in 1114 by Leopold III, Margrave of Austria, Saint Leopold III of House of Babenberg, Babenberg, the patron saint of Austria, and his second wife Agnes of Waiblingen, Agnes of Germany. The abbey church, dedicated the Nativity of Mary (''Mariä Geburt''), was consecrated in 1136 and remodeled in the Baroque architecture, Baroque style in the seventeenth century. The impressive monastery complex was mostly constructed between 1730 and 1834. Its foundations, including a castle tower and a Gothic architecture, Gothic chapel, date back to the twelfth century. Leopoldsberg
The Leopoldsberg (; ) is a hill in Vienna, Austria, towering over the Danube and the city. Leopoldberg’s most prominent landmark is the church which stands at the top, and which is clearly visible from Vienna below. Construction of the Leopoldsberg church, dedicated to Saint Leopold, began in 1679; an expansion following a design by Antonio Beduzzi was undertaken 171830. Other renovations were to follow. Korneuburg (; Central Bavarian: ''Korneibuag'') is a town in Austria. It is located in the state Lower Austria and is the administrative center of the district of Korneuburg (district), Korneuburg.
