The Mirror Universe is the setting of several narratives in the '' Star Trek'' science fiction franchise, a parallel universe existing alongside, but separate from, the fictional universe that is the main setting of ''Star Trek''. It resembles the main ''Star Trek'' universe, but is populated by more violent and opportunistic doppelgängers of its people. The Mirror Universe has been visited in one episode of ''Star Trek: The Original Series'', five episodes of '' Star Trek: Deep Space Nine'', a two-part episode of ''Star Trek: Enterprise,'' a storyline woven through the first season of '' Star Trek: Discovery'' (continuing with a Mirror Universe character in the main cast of seasons 2 and 3), and several non-canon ''Star Trek'' tie-in works. The Tholian Web
"The Tholian Web" is the ninth episode of the third season of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek''. Written by Judy Burns and Chet Richards and directed by Herb Wallerstein, it was first broadcast on November 15, 1968. In the episode, Captain Kirk is caught between dimensions while the crew of the ''Enterprise'' works to retrieve him. Hoshi Sato
Hoshi Sato , played by Korean American actress Linda Park, is a fictional character in the science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Enterprise''. In the show Sato, born in Kyoto, Japan on July 9, 2129, is the communications officer aboard the starship ''Enterprise (NX-01)'', and a linguist who can speak more than forty languages (polyglotism), including Klingon. She is an acknowledged linguistic genius and expert at operating the universal translator, a key instrument in allowing the crew to communicate with alien cultures. ''Enterprise NX-01'' is a fictional spaceship that appears in the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Enterprise''. It had the in-universe registration of NX-01 and appeared earlier in the franchise timeline than any other Starfleet ship named ''Enterprise''. The ship is first seen in the pilot episode " Broken Bow" and was seen throughout the series undergoing various upgrades. Its missions included an initial period of deep space exploration and a mission into the Delphic Expanse following the Xindi attack on Earth; it was also instrumental in the formation of the United Federation of Planets with the Vulcans, Andorians and Tellarites.
