Klinger are a rock band from Melbourne, Victoria named after the character from ''M*A*S*H''. Their "Sayonara Anyway" / "Ben Lee" single reached #22 on the ARIA Alternative singles chart. They had two songs in Triple J's Hottest 100 in 2000. They supported Green Day, Unwritten Law and Everclear and toured nationally. Ben Birchall
Ben Birchall is a musician based in Melbourne, Victoria. He was a member of Klinger until it broke up and then he went solo, releasing an ep, ''Year of the Monkey'', in 2004. He formed Ben Birchall and the Corrections and they released an album, ''Last Ditch Brigade'', in 2007. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian Radio in Australia, radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The Triple J Hottest 100 is an annual music listener poll hosted by the publicly-funded, national Australian youth radio station, Triple J. Members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite Australian and alternative music of the year in an online poll conducted two weeks prior to the new year. From 1989 to 2018, the 100 most popular songs were counted down from 12 pm on Australia Day. Since then, the countdown has been held on the fourth weekend of January, due to increasing controversy about Australia Day regarding its marking of the colonisation of Australia and dispossession of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land. Typically on the day after the Hottest 100, Triple J has played the Hottest 200 ("the songs that didn't quite make it") from 10 am. The 2000 Triple J Hottest 100, announced in January 2001, was the eighth such countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. As in previous years, a CD featuring 37 (not necessarily the top 37) songs was released. The CD featured Queens of the Stone Age's song "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" despite it not making the top 100, hinting that it may have placed at No. 101. Full list 40 of the 100 songs were by Australian artists (marked with a green background). Trivia Scoring songs at #1 and #3, Powderfinger set the current record for best performing pair of songs (ranked by adding their positions). This record was to be equaled by Kings of Leon in 2008. Everclear is an American rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1991. The band was formed by Art Alexakis, the band's lead songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist; and for most of the band's height of popularity, consisted of Craig Montoya on bass guitar and Greg Eklund on drums. TISM (an acronym of This Is Serious Mum) are a seven-piece anonymous alternative rock band, formed in Melbourne, Australia on 30 December 1982 by vocalist/drummer Humphrey B.
