Klein Forest High School
Klein Forest High School is a public senior high school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, near Houston. It is a part of the Klein Independent School District. It was the second high school built in Klein ISD. Opening in the Fall of 1979, Klein Forest welcomes students from the southern side of the district, including the Champions area of F.M. 1960. Klein Forest celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009. There are two intermediate campuses and eight elementary schools within its feeder pattern. In the spring of 2011, Klein Forest opened an NCAA-modeled athletic facility. Klein Forest serves grades 9-12. Charles Wayne Gaines (born October 15, 1981) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Anhui Dragons of the Chinese National Basketball League. He played high school basketball in his native city of Houston, and he spent two years at Southwest Missouri State in the MVC before transferring to Southern Miss, where he played his two remaining years of college basketball eligibility. After going undrafted in the 2004 NBA draft, he started his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association with the Michigan Mayhem, leading the league in rebounding. National School Lunch Act
The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a 1946 United States federal law that created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to provide low-cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools. The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school age children. It was named after Richard Russell, Jr., signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1946, and entered the federal government into schools' dietary programs on June 4, 1946. Greenwood Forest is an unincorporated area in Harris County, Texas, United States. It is within the Champions region of area . According to Louis B. Parks of the ''Houston Chronicle'', the commuting distance to Downtown Houston in 2004 was 20 minutes. History Kickerillo Organizations created the community beginning in 1970. A municipal utility district was established for it. The City of Houston signed an agreement that prior to 2031 the city government will not annex the area. High level workers for companies focusing in the oil and gas industry settled the area.
