Klefki
Klefki, known in Japan as , is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's ''Pokémon'' franchise. It was designed by Pokémon graphic designer Mana Ibe and was inspired by old mansions and secret keys. Klefki was introduced in ''Pokémon X'' and ''Y'' and is a Steel and Fairy Pokémon known for collecting keys. A short film about Klefki called ''Pikachu, What's This Key For?'' premiered as an opener for ''Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction''. Klefki received a mostly negative reception, though it gained the most attention among generation VI Pokémon prior to release. While multiple critics felt that it was poorly designed, other critics praised Klefki, defending it and other Pokémon based around inanimate objects. The sixth generation (Generation VI) of the ''Pokémon'' franchise features 72 fictional species of creatures introduced to the core video game series in the 2013 Nintendo 3DS games ''Pokémon X'' and ''Y''. Some Pokémon in this generation were introduced in animated adaptations of the franchise before ''X'' and ''Y''. This generation featured the series' largest graphical overhaul: a shift from two-dimensional sprites to three-dimensional polygons. Ken Sugimori
is a Japanese video game designer, illustrator, manga artist, and director. He is best known as the primary character designer and art director for the ''Pokémon'' franchise. Sugimori is also credited with the art direction for other titles, including '' Pulseman''. Sugimori drew and finalized all of the original 151 Pokémon. He has also worked on the various ''Pokémon'' films, trading cards, and other games like the '' Super Smash Bros.'' series.
