Cindy Klassen
Cindy Klassen, (born August 12, 1979) is a Canadian retired long track speed skater. She is a six-time medallist having achieved one gold, two silver, three bronze at the Winter Olympics. She is the only Canadian Olympian to win five medals in a single Olympic games and the first female speed skater to win five medals in a single games at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. She was a world record holder in the 3000 m until March 2019, when her time was beaten by Martina Sáblíková. She also holds the Canadian records over 1500 m and 5000 m. Klassen is the leader of the Adelskalender, which is the all-time world ranking for speed skating. In 2003, Klassen became the first Canadian in 27 years to win the overall title at the World Speed Skating Championships. Bernhardt "Ben" Klassen ( ( O.S. February 7, 1918) – ) was an American politician and white supremacist religious leader. He founded the Church of the Creator with the publication of his book ''Nature's Eternal Religion'' in 1973. Klassen was openly racist, antisemitic and anti-Christian and first popularized the term " Racial Holy War" within the White Power movement. At one point, Klassen was a Republican Florida state legislator, as well as a supporter of George Wallace's presidential campaign. Daniel Victor Klassen (born September 22, 1975) is a Canadian former professional baseball infielder. He played four seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and one season with the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Early life Klassen was born to a Mennonite family in Leamington, Ontario and later attended high school at John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round of the 1993 Major League Baseball draft. Career Milwaukee Brewers In 1993, Klassen made his professional debut at the age of 17. He began with the Rookie–level Arizona League Brewers, appearing in 38 games and batting .222 with two home runs and 20 runs batted in. He stole 14 bases and was caught stealing three times. Owen James Klassen (born October 31, 1991) is a Canadian professional basketball player for EWE Baskets Oldenburg of the Basketball Bundesliga. He played university basketball at Acadia University and is a current member of the Canadian national basketball team. Sarah Klassen (born 1932) is an award-winning Canadian writer living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Klassen's first volume of poetry, ''Journey to Yalta'', was awarded the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award in 1989. Klassen is the recipient of Canadian Authors Association Award for Poetry and Klassen's novel, ''The Wittenbergs'', was awarded the Margaret McWilliams Award for popular history. Johann Peter Klassen (1868–1947) was a Russian Mennonite poet and writer who emigrated to Canada in 1923 but wrote primarily in the German language. He was born 27 May 1868 (O.S. 15 May) in Neu-Schönwiese near Alexandrovsk (Zaporizhia) Ukraine (then part of Russia), the third of four children of Peter Abram Klassen (22 October 1825 – 13 February 1905) and Aganetha (Schultz) Klassen (1 April 1832 – 7 December 1920). Kenneth Klassen
Kenneth Klassen (born 1951) is an art dealer from Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Starting at the age of 27 or 28, Klassen began sexually abusing children and continued doing so for more than 25 years. He sexually abused fourteen children as a sex tourist in Cambodia and Colombia between December 1998 and March 2002 and videotaped himself while doing so. The victims were all less than 14 years old, and they ranged in age to as young as 8 years old. In 2010, he was convicted of having engaged in child sex tourism and having broken Canada's child pornography laws. Klassen was sentenced to eleven years in prison, which was, at the time, the harshest sentence anyone had ever received for breaking Canada's law against sex tourism. The law came into force thirteen years before Klassen's conviction, and only two other people had been convicted under that law in that time.
