Kim Jeong-gyun ( ko, 김정균; born December 23, 1985), better known as kkOma, is a South Korean professional '' League of Legends'' coach. As the coach of SK Telecom T1 and later DWG KIA, kkOma was a three-time world champion, two-time Mid-Season Invitational champion, and ten-time LCK champion. kkOma is widely considered the greatest coach in ''League of Legends'' history. He is known for his strict coaching attitude and aptitude for developing talented rookies. He was also a finalist for the 2017 and 2021 World Championship. Prior to becoming a coach, kkOma enjoyed a short professional career in esports. He competed in StarCraft II competing under the ID "LittleBoy" for "Team Old Generations". After unsuccessful attempts to qualify for Global StarCraft II League, he quit Starcraft II and competed for one season of League of Legends Champions Korea for the team "Startale". 2017 Mid-Season Invitational
The 2017 Mid-Season Invitational was the third annual Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) - a tournament for the MOBA video game ''League of Legends'' was hosted by Riot Games. The tournament was held from April 28 to May 21, 2017, in Brazil. This was the first time MSI had been extended. Each of 13 premier League of Legends leagues had a team that won the Spring Split represent them; Europe (EU LCS), South Korea (LCK), and China ( LPL) had their teams automatically admitted into the main event whereas the other 10 leagues competed among each other in a "Play-in Stage" with the top 3 teams advancing to join the main event. ''League of Legends'' Champions Korea (LCK) is the primary competition for ''League of Legends'' esports in South Korea. Contested by ten teams, the league runs two seasons per year and serves as a direct route to qualification for the annual ''League of Legends'' World Championship. The LCK is administered in cooperation between Riot Games and KeSPA. The league was formerly named ''League of Legends'' Champions before undergoing a major restructuring in late 2014, which saw a change in the competition's format and a rebranding to its current name. Esports at the 2022 Asian Games were held at the China Hangzhou Esports Center in Hangzhou, China from 24 September to 2 October 2023. This was the first edition of the Asian Games that featured esports as a medal event, after debuting as a demonstration sport in 2018 Asian Games, 2018, and the second major multi-sport event to do so after the SEA Games since 2019 SEA Games, 2019. A qualification tournament called ''Asian Esports Federation, AESF Road to Asian Games 2022'' was played in Macau, China from June 15 to July 15 for all titles featured. The results of this tournament were also used to determine the countries' seedings for the upcoming Games, with no participants being eliminated through this event. The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. The KeSPA Cup (Hangul: 케스파컵) is an annual esports event organized by the Korean eSports Association. As of the 2021 edition, the tournament is organized for ''League of Legends''. Until 2016, the tournament was also organized for ''StarCraft II''.
