Kjell Svindland
Kjell Svindland (born 15 April 1933) is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Vest-Agder during the terms 1973–1977, 1977–1981, 1981–1985, 1985–1989 and 1989–1993. Following the 1995 elections, Svindland became the new county mayor (''fylkesordfører'') of Vest-Agder. The Christian Democratic Party ( nb, Kristelig Folkeparti, nn, Kristeleg Folkeparti, se, Risttalaš Álbmotbellodat, , KrF) is a Christian-democratic political party in Norway founded in 1933. The party is an observer member of the European People's Party (EPP). It currently holds three seats in the Parliament, having won 3.8% of the vote in the 2021 parliamentary election. The current leader of the party is Olaug Bollestad. The Christian Democrats' leader from 1983 to 1995, Kjell Magne Bondevik, was one of the most prominent political figures in modern Norway, serving as Prime Minister from 1997 to 2000 and 2001 to 2005. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. Vest-Agder
Vest-Agder (; "West Agder") was one of 18 counties (''fylker'') in Norway up until 1 January 2020, when it was merged with Aust-Agder to form Agder county. In 2016, there were 182,701 inhabitants, around 3.5% of the total population of Norway. Its area was about . The county administration was located in its largest city, Kristiansand. Vest-Agder was a major source of timber for Dutch and later English shipping from the 16th century onwards. Thore Westermoen
Thore Westermoen (born 17 September 1949 in Mandal) is a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He is the son of Toralf Westermoen, who among other things is a former member of the national Parliament. Thore Westermoen himself served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Vest-Agder during the terms 1989–1993, 1997–2001 and 2005–2009. Following the 1999 election, Westermoen became the new county mayor (''fylkesordfører''). He was re-elected in 2003 and 2007. After the 2011 Norwegian local elections the local alliance he led was dissolved. He was offered the county mayor post if the Christian Democratics cooperated with Labour, but they rejected. Vest-Agder County Municipality ( no, Vest-Agder fylkeskommune) was the regional governing administration of the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The county municipality was established on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway.
