Kitui School
Kitui High School is a boys boarding secondary school in Kitui County and the only national boys secondary school in the county. It has a population of 1,200 students. It is located about 2 kilometers from Kitui town along the Kitui-Mbusyani road. History Kitui School began as an intermediate school in 1908 before changing to a boarding school in 1948. The school was by that time known as Campbell Academy. It started offering A-level classes in 1971. Kitui County
Kitui County is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Kitui, although Mwingi is also another major urban centre. The county has a population of 1,136,187 (2019 census). and an area of 30,430 km2. It lies between latitudes 0°10 South and 3°0 South and longitudes 37°50 East and 39°0 East. Kitui County shares its borders with seven counties; Tharaka-Nithi and Meru to the north, Embu to the northwest, Machakos and Makueni to the west, Tana River to the east and southeast, and Taita-Taveta to the south. Ngala Mwendwa
Eliud Ngala Mwendwa (1923 – June 8, 2016) was a Kenyan teacher and politician. He was a member of the Kenyan delegation to the 1960 Lancaster House Conference, which negotiated the country's independence from the United Kingdom. Mwendwa then served as Minister for Labour within President Jomo Kenyatta's first post-independence 15-member cabinet. He ultimately served as the Minister for Labour and Social Services from 1963 until 1974 under Kenyatta. Early life Mwendwa was born in 1923 to Kitui Paramount Chief Mwendwa Kitavi and his fifth wife (Kitavi had seven wives). His brother, Kitili Maluki Mwendwa, became the first African-born Chief Justice of Kenya. Another brother, Kyale Mwendwa, was a former Cabinet minister and director of education. Benjamin Paul Mwanzia Nzimbi (born 1945 in Kitui District) is a Kenyan Anglican archbishop. He was the archbishop and primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya and Bishop of the Diocese of All Saints Cathedral, from 2002 to 2009. He is married to Alice Kavula and the couple has five children. He was born in a poor family of eight children and went to attend Ithookwe Primary, Mulutu Intermediary and Kitui School. He later attended Kenyatta University, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Education, with majors in Religion and Kishwahili. Afterward, he worked as a lecturer at Machakos Teachers Training College, where he was dean of students and head of social studies. Tharaka-Nithi County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya located in Kenya's former Eastern Province. The county has an area of 2609 km2 and as of the 2019 census a population of 393,177. General elections were held in Kenya on 4 March 2013. Voters elected the President, members of the National Assembly and newly formed Senate.
