Kitchee Sports Club (; ; ) is a Hong Kong professional Association football, football club based in Kowloon. It was founded in 1931 and currently competes in the Hong Kong Premier League. The club has won championships in Hong Kong 11 times, including 6 Hong Kong First Division titles and 5 Hong Kong Premier League titles. It also won the Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield, Hong Kong Senior Shield 7 times and the Hong Kong FA Cup 6 times. In the last 10 years, Kitchee won over than 50% of all possible trophies competed in Hong Kong. The club is also the first team from Hong Kong to win a game in AFC Champions League group stage and the first Hong Kong club to advance to the round of 16. Chu Chi Kwong
Alex Chu Chi Kwong (; born 29 August 1960) is a Hong Kong people, Hong Kong association football, football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee SC, Kitchee. Chu holds an Asian Football Confederation, AFC “Pro” License coaching certification. Playing career Born in British Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Chu played for Hong Kong First Division League, Hong Kong First Division clubs Sea Bee and Sing Tao SC, Sing Tao during his playing career. While playing for Sing Tao, Chu lifted the Viceroy Cup twice, during the 1994–95 and 1996–97 seasons. Coaching career Following retirement from playing, Chu took over the managerial position at Fukien AC, Fukien in 2001. The Hong Kong Premier League () is a Hong Kong professional football league organised by the Hong Kong Football Association. Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield
The Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield (), known commonly as the Senior Shield, is the football knockout inter-club competition held in Hong Kong and the fourth oldest football tournament in Asia. Traditionally, only the teams in the Hong Kong Premier League are entered into the competition. However, on occasion teams in lower divisions, usually the champions of the Junior Shield, are invited in order to increase the number of participating teams. The current Senior Shield holders are Eastern. History Hong Kong Football Cup was a knockout cup competition which was established in 1895. Hong Kong FA Cup
Hong Kong FA Cup () is a knockout cup competition in Hong Kong football, run by and named after The Hong Kong Football Association. The first edition of the competition was held in 1975, before then the cup was known as the Golden Jubilee Cup. The current season is the 45th edition of the event. 14 different teams have won the cup with 10-time champions South China being the most successful. In the first three years, the semi-finals and the finals were two-legged events. If the aggregate result was drawn, there would be extra time after the second leg. Drawn ties after extra time would be settled by a replay. However, this practice was abandoned in 1977. Since 1978, all matches have become one-legged, draws are settled by extra time and penalty shootouts. Hong Kong Second Division League () is the third level of football league in Hong Kong founded in 1909. The top two teams are promoted to the Hong Kong First Division. Competition format * Each team plays the other teams twice, one home and one away game. The ticket profits go to the home team. If there are two matches in the same stadium on the day, the profits are shared between the two home teams. * Since most of the teams do not have a home ground, the matches will be playing on different grounds. Ken Ng
Ken Ng (; ; born 1 March 1951) is the president of Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee. He is a former referee and a former member of the Hong Kong First Division board. Ng, along with Steven Lo, Chan Man Chun, and Chan Tin Yau, formed the preparation committee for the establishment of the Premier League. Career Ken started his referee career when he was studying in Canada. He started refereeing in Hong Kong in 1981. He was also being nominated as a FIFA referee. In November 1990, Ng, in his individual name, wrote a letter to impeach the internal affairs of the Hong Kong Football Association. He then received a three-month ban and his name was removed from the FIFA referee list. Two referees thought that the punishment was too severe and applied to the High Court for an injunction. Lam Sheung Yee
Spencer Lam Sheung Yee (; 14 December 1934 – 23 April 2009) was a football defender, coach and announcer, as well as an actor. Spencer was a graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong with an economics major.
