Kishwaukee River Conference
The Kishwaukee River Conference (KRC) is an organization of eight high schools in northern Illinois. These high schools are members of the Illinois High School Association. The high schools of the Kishwaukee River Conference are located in McHenry County. History On November 8, 2013, it was announced that Woodstock and Woodstock North planned to leave the Fox Valley Conference by 2015 and create a new conference. After rumors that members of the Big Northern Conference's East Division might join this new conference, it was announced on November 19 that five BNC members - Burlington Central, Genoa-Kingston, Harvard, Johnsburg (which at the time was still in the Fox Valley Conference but was joining the BNC as the start of the 2014–15 school year), Marengo, and Richmond-Burton were invited to join the new conference, creating a proposed 8-team conference. Illinois High School Association
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) is an association that regulates competition of interscholastic sports and some interscholastic activities at the high school level for the state of Illinois. It is a charter member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The IHSA regulates 14 sports for boys, 15 sports for girls, and eight co-educational non-athletic activities. More than 760 public and private high schools in the state of Illinois are members of the IHSA. The Association's offices are in Bloomington, Illinois. Burlington, Illinois
Burlington is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 535 at the 2020 census, down from 618 in 2010. It was incorporated as a village on November 6, 1990. History Burlington was platted by Andrew Pingree in 1851. It was named after the Burlington Northern Railroad, which runs through the south edge of the village. In 1878, the area had three cheese factories, a general store, a hotel and a saloon. A post office under the name "Burlington" has been in operation since 1906. The last dairy plant closed in the 1970s. Since the early 1990s, Burlington has been home to two small plastics companies. Sandwich, Illinois
Sandwich is a city in DeKalb and Kendall counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. Its population was 7,421 at the 2010 census and 7,221 at the 2020 census. History The town's history is tied to politician "Long John" Wentworth and his efforts to move the Illinois border with Wisconsin from being even with the bottom of Lake Michigan to its present location. If those efforts had not been successful, the state line would reside along the LaSalle-DeKalb County border, placing the incorporated community in Wisconsin. The community was established when Almon Gage sought a railroad stop on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad that ran through town. Richmond is a village in McHenry County, Illinois, United States, 46 miles northwest of Chicago. It is a commuter village within the Chicago metropolitan area.
