Kirsty Strain
Kirsty Strain is a Scottish actress, best known for her roles in the popular comedy sketch series, ''Burnistoun'', and as Angie Warren in the BBC Scotland television series, ''River City''. In December 2016, she was a supporting actress to several acting pieces by St. Paul's High School, at the Tramway Theatre in Glasgow. She can most recently be seen in '' Outlander'' and the feature films, '' And Violet'' and '' Anna and the Apocalypse'' in 2022, Kirsty will compete in the inaugural Beautiful Scottish Acting Faces competition which will be held over 3 days in Oban. Sean Biggerstaff (born 15 March 1983) is a Scottish actor. He is best known for playing Oliver Wood in the ''Harry Potter'' film series, appearing in ''Philosopher's Stone'' (2001), '' Chamber of Secrets'' (2002), and '' Deathly Hallows – Part 2'' (2011). Biggerstaff began acting as a child actor at the age of five and made his screen debut in the television miniseries ''The Crow Road'' (1996). Burnistoun Goes To Work
''Burnistoun'' is a Scottish comedy sketch show broadcast by BBC Scotland, written by the comedians Iain Connell and Robert Florence. The show was produced by The Comedy Unit. The series is set in a fictional Scottish town called Burnistoun in the greater Glasgow area. Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), also called myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or ME/CFS, is a complex, debilitating, long-term medical condition. The causes and mechanisms of the disease are not fully understood. BBC One Scotland is a Scottish free-to-air television channel owned and operated by BBC Scotland and is a Scottish variation of the UK-wide BBC One. The Comedy Unit
The Comedy Unit or known sometimes as just Comedy Unit is a Scottish company that produces sitcoms, comedy sketches, live shows and other comedy productions. It began life as an in-house BBC department in 1983 under the auspices of Producer Colin Gilbert and became an independent production company in 1996 when Gilbert and business manager April Chamberlain left the BBC. By 2001 they had an annual turnover of £2million a core staff of 12 employees. They have produced radio and television shows that were aired on BBC Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland. It was bought by London-based RDF Media Group in 2006 which in turn was acquired by Paris-based Zodiak Entertainment Group in 2010. STV (TV Channel)
STV is a Scottish free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the STV Group. It is made up of the Central Scotland and Northern Scotland Channel 3 public broadcaster licences, formerly known as Scottish Television (now legally STV Central Ltd) and Grampian Television (now legally STV North Ltd) respectively. The STV brand refers to the on-air name used by Scottish Television for much of its history - notably in the 1970s and early 1980s. This brand remained in conversational use amongst the local public afterwards. The modern STV brand was adopted on Tuesday 30 May 2006 replacing both franchises' previous identities. Taggart (series)
''Taggart'' is a Scottish detective fiction television programme created by Glenn Chandler, who wrote many of the episodes, and made by STV Studios for the ITV network. It originally ran as the miniseries "Killer" from 6 until 20 September 1983, before a full series was commissioned that ran from 2 July 1985 until 7 November 2010. The series revolved around a group of detectives initially in the Maryhill CID of Strathclyde Police, though various storylines were set in other parts of Greater Glasgow and in other areas of Scotland. The team operated out of the fictional John Street police station. Mark McManus, who played the title character Jim Taggart, died in 1994. However, the series continued under the same name. Colin McCredie (born 8 June 1972 in Dumbarton, Scotland) is a Scottish actor, best known for his role as DC Stuart Fraser in the STV drama ''Taggart'', Nick Morrison in the BBC Scotland Soap Opera ''River City'' and in the films '' Shallow Grave'', '' Night is Day'' and ''The Missing Postman''. Blythe Duff
Blythe Duff (born 25 November 1962) is a Scottish actress best known for her role as Jackie Reid in the ITV television series drama, ''Taggart''. Background Duff was born and raised in East Kilbride. Her love of acting started with youth theatre. On leaving Hunter High School she joined The Company, a youth opportunities theatre company, based at the Glasgow Arts Centre in Washington Street and spent her summers with the Scottish Youth Theatre. Macrobert Arts Centre is a multi-arts venue located on the main campus of the University of Stirling, Scotland.
