Kirsten Kjelsberg Osen (born 20 July 1928) is a Norwegian Anatomy, anatomist and Otology, otologist. Personal life Osen was born in Alta, Norway, Alta, the daughter of a teacher and school principal. Osen graduated as Candidate of Medicine in 1954 and as Doctor Medicinae (Danish and Norwegian degree), Doctor Medicinae in 1970. Career She was appointed professor of Neuromorphology, morphology at the University of Tromsø in 1971, and was the first female professor of medicine in Norway. She stayed in Tromsø for five years, and then returned to the University of Oslo, as researcher at the . Her principal field of research has been studies of the Cochlear nucleus, cochlear nuclei. She has been active in the Norwegian chapter of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, and the Norwegian Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, Pugwash committee. ( se, Áltá ; fkv, Alattio; fi, Alattio) is the most populated municipality in Finnmark in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Alta. Some of the main villages in the municipality include Kåfjord, Komagfjord, Kvenvik, Langfjordbotn, Leirbotn, Rafsbotn, Talvik, and Tverrelvdalen. Downtown Alta is located just below the 70th latitude and is closer to the North Pole than it is to much of Central Europe and the British Isles. The town is the northernmost settlement of urban significance in the European Economic Area, with municipalities north of it being sparsely populated.
