Kirsten Hughes (politician)
Kirsten L. Hughes is an American political figure, singer, and attorney who is the clerk magistrate of Stoughton District Court. She was the Chair of the Massachusetts Republican Party from 2013 to 2019 and a member of the Quincy, Massachusetts City Council from 2012 to 2020. Early life Hughes was born and raised in Quincy. She began her political involvement at the age of twelve as a volunteer for William Weld's gubernatorial campaign. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1995. Singing Hughes earned a degree in theater arts from New York University. For over eighteen years, she worked as a singing waitress at West Quincy's Common Market Café. She also sang professionally in New York City, participated in community musicals, performed around Boston with a cover band called Velvet Krush, and played Ariel for a year in the Walt Disney World show ''Voyage of the Little Mermaid''. Massachusetts Republican Party
The Massachusetts Republican Party (MassGOP) is the Massachusetts branch of the U.S. Republican Party. In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 52, the party is governed by a state committee which consists of one man and one woman from each of the 40 State Senate districts. The state committee elects party officers including a chair. The party currently has very weak electoral power in Massachusetts. It controls none of the state's U.S. House seats or U.S. Senate seats, and the only two statewide offices the party controls are the governorship and lieutenant governorship, which are currently held by Charlie Baker and Karyn Polito respectively. Ariel is a fictional character in Walt Disney Pictures' 28th animated feature film ''The Little Mermaid'' (1989). Ariel is voiced by Jodi Benson in all official animated appearances and merchandise. Charles Duane Baker Jr. (born November 13, 1956) is an American politician and businessman serving as the 72nd governor of Massachusetts since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Baker was a cabinet official under two governors of Massachusetts and served ten years as CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. Jerome P. “Jerry” McDermott is an American politician who served as the 22nd High Sheriff of Norfolk County from 2018 through 2021, as well as a member of the Boston City Council from 2002 through 2008.
