Kirkkonummi Railway Station
Kirkkonummi railway station ( fi, Kirkkonummen rautatieasema, sv, Kyrkslätts järnvägsstation) is a railway station in the municipality of Kirkkonummi, Finland, between Siuntio railway station and Tolsa railway station. Kirkkonummi railway station serves as the terminus for the U and most L trains of the Helsinki commuter rail system and is also served by Y, X and L trains to Siuntio. Most of the long-distance trains between Helsinki and Turku used to stop at Kirkkonummi station until 2016. Nowadays only some few long-distance services make a stop at Kirkkonummi. The station has also three VR bus departures to Karis via Ingå on weekdays. Kirkkonummi (; sv, Kyrkslätt, , Sweden ) is a Municipalities of Finland, municipality of inhabitants () in southern Finland. Helsinki–Turku Railway
Rantarata (the Coastal Railway, Swedish: Kustbanan), is a railway running between the Helsinki Central railway station and the Turku railway station in Finland. Its first segment, linking Turku to Karis, was commissioned in 1895, and work began the following year. The Turku–Karis track was opened for temporary traffic on 1 April 1899 and for permanent use on 1 November 1899. The second part of the Rantarata, linking Karis to Helsinki, was approved in 1897 and opened for traffic in 1902–1903. The track was done to serve primarily in commuter traffic and was therefore laid out with many curves and as few tunnels and expensive earthworks as possible. This resulted in a series of corrections and straightening of curves, a work with began in the 1910s and continued all the way to the 1990s. Siuntio Railway Station
Siuntio railway station ( fi, Siuntion rautatieasema, sv, Sjundeå järnvägsstation) is a railway station in the municipality of Siuntio, Finland, between the stations of Kirkkonummi and Karis. History The Sjundeå station was opened for traffic on 1 September 1903, and its station building, designed by Bruno Granholm, was finished in the same year. The station had its Finnish name officialized in June 1925. The station was on the area of the territory of the Soviet Porkkala Naval Base, established as a result of the Moscow Armistice in 1944. Tolsa Railway Station
Tolsa railway station ( fi, Tolsan rautatieasema, sv, Tolls hållplats) is a railway halt on the Helsinki commuter rail network located in the town of Kirkkonummi, Finland, between the Jorvas and Kirkkonummi stations. The station is served by Helsinki commuter rail lines U and L. The westbound trains to Kirkkonummi stop at track 1 and the eastbound trains to Helsinki use the track 2. Helsinki commuter rail ( fi, Helsingin seudun lähijunaliikenne, sv, Huvudstadsregionens närtrafik) is a commuter rail system serving Greater Helsinki and the surrounding county of Uusimaa. The system is a joint venture between the regional transport authority HSL and national railway operator VR. The system operates on four railway lines and comprises 13 services, all of which terminate at Helsinki Central Station. Skip-stop is a public transit service pattern which reduces travel times and increases capacity by having vehicles ''skip'' certain ''stops'' along a route. Turku Central Railway Station
Turku Central Station (, ) is a railway station in the VII District of Turku, Finland. It has VR services to Helsinki and towards Joensuu (most terminate in Tampere or Pieksämäki). The station serves approximately a million passengers annually. The railway station was opened in 1876, together with the newly built railway between Turku and Tampere, in a celebration attended by the future Tsar Alexander III of Russia. Services were at first only to Tampere and Toijala, and the significance of railways was rather minor. In 1899, a new railway to Helsinki was opened, and subsequently rail traffic to and from Turku became more frequent.
