Kirkhof Center
The Russel H. Kirkhof Center is a student union on the main Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University located in Allendale, Michigan. The center, originally called “Campus Center”, was dedicated in 1974 and renamed to its current name in 1984. The Kirkhof Center is home to many services and shops. Located inside the Kirkhof Center is as follows: Main Level: The main level contains the 2020 Information Desk, Subway, Panda Express, a convenience store/coffee shop, a movie theater, billiards, the LGBT Resource Center, Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Women's Center, and the Office of Student Life. Grand Valley State University
Grand Valley State University (GVSU, GV, or Grand Valley) is a public university in Allendale, Michigan. It was established in 1960 as Grand Valley State College. Its main campus is situated on approximately west of Grand Rapids. The university also features campuses in Grand Rapids and Holland and regional centers in Battle Creek, Detroit, Muskegon, and Traverse City. Allendale Charter Township, Michigan
Allendale Charter Township is a charter township of Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2020 Census, the township population was 26,583. Grand Valley Lanthorn
The ''Grand Valley Lanthorn'' is the student-run newspaper for Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. The ''Lanthorn'' is printed twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays during the academic year (Late August through April). It is not printed over academic breaks, and there are typically two issues over the summer months. The "Lanthorn" prints 8,000 copies per individual publication and also operates its own website. The word "lanthorn" is derived from an old English word meaning "look out" or "lantern." A lanthorn was constructed of leather and a lens made of ox or steer horn, it was used for lighting or as a beacon. The common pronunciation of the word on campus is lan-thorn, although the proper pronunciation is lant-horn. Allendale, Michigan
Allendale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 17,579 at the 2010 census. It is located within Allendale Charter Township, occupying approximately the northern two-thirds of the township, from the eastern boundary with the Grand River west along Pierce St., north along 75th Ave., then west along Lake Michigan Drive ( M-45) to the western boundary of the township.
