Kirit, Togdheer
Kirit ( so, Kiridh) is a town in the Burao District, in the Togdheer region of Somaliland. The town is 92 km southeast of Burao, the regional capital. It located on the road connecting Burao and Las Anod. It belonged to the Saraar region, which was temporarily established in Somaliland. The town is home to a fort, constructed by the Dervish movement (Somali), Dervishes led by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan. History In August 2016, Somaliland's Minister of Third Country Resettlement, Minister of Education, and Minister of Livestock visited Kirit. In March 2017, a major drought caused residents of nearby Indhodeeq and other areas to evacuate to Kirit. Kirit was also affected. Steve Kirit (born 1972) is an American professional strongman competitor. Steve is a 2-time winner of America's Strongest Man. Steve competed twice in the Arnold Strongman Classic, finishing 5th in 2003 and 9th in 2004. Steve competed in the World's Strongest Man in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Steve trained with fellow strongman competitor Steve MacDonald. Steve finished 7th in the first IFSA World Cup Championships in 2004. Maharaja Kirit Bikram Kishore Manikya Deb Barma Bahadur (13 December 1933 – 28 November 2006) was the 185th and last King of Tripura, a princely state in northeastern India. His formal coronation was held in 1941, but he never gained the powers of a king. Political career He succeeded his father, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman. He was the nominal king for two years until the state's merger into India in 1949. Since he was a minor during this time, the state was governed by a Council of Regency headed by his mother Kanchan Prava Devi. He was elected from Tripura East Lok Sabha seat on an Indian National Congress ticket and was elected thrice in 1967, 1977 and 1989. Kirit Khan (29 October 1955 – 2006 ) was a Bengali-Indian sitar player. Early life Khan was born in Brahmanbaria in erstwhile East Bengal and later settled in Kolkata, India. He is the second son of Ustad Bahadur Khan, a Sarod artiste. Musician Ayet Ali Khan was his grandfather. His elder brother was Bidyut Khan. At the age of seven, Khan started learning music. First he took his lessons on tabla and later on sitar from his father. He learned from him until his father passed away in 1989. Kirit S. Parikh is Emeritus Professor (on retirement as Director) and Founder Director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), Mumbai, India. Kirit Premjibhai Solanki (b 1950) is an Indian Politician and medical practitioner (laparoscopic surgeon) who has been elected Member of Parliament of India for three consecutive terms (15th, 16th and 17th Lok Sabha).
