Kiri Sakor
Kiri Sakor District ( km, ស្រុកគីរីសាគរ) is a district (''srok'') of Koh Kong Province, in south-western Cambodia. All of Kiri Sakor is part of Botum Sakor National Park since 1993. Administrative divisions of Cambodia have several levels. Cambodia is divided into 24 provinces (''Khaet''; km, ខេត្ត, ) and the special administrative unit Phnom Penh. Though a different administrative unit, Phnom Penh is at province level, so ''de facto'' Cambodia has 25 provinces and municipalities. Each province is divided into districts (''Srok''/''Khan''; , /) - there are 159 districts throughout the country’s provinces, and 12 are in Phnom Penh. Provinces Of Cambodia
Cambodia is divided into 25 provinces ( km, ខេត្ត, ). The capital Phnom Penh is not a province but an "autonomous municipality" ( km, រាជធានី, link=no, ; lit. 'Capital'), equivalent to a province governmentally and administered at the same level as the other 24 provinces. Phnom Penh has both the highest population and the highest population density of all provinces, but is the second smallest in land area. The largest province by area is Mondulkiri and the smallest is Kep which is also the least populated province. Mondulkiri has the lowest population density. Each province is administered by a governor, who is nominated by the Ministry of Interior, subject to approval by the Prime Minister. Provinces are divided into districts ( ''srok''). Botum Sakor National Park
Botum Sakor National Park is the largest national park of Cambodia. Situated on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Botum Sakor (or Botumsakor) is a peninsula projecting southwest from the Cardamom Mountains. The national park comprises an area of and spans three districts of Koh Kong Province: Kiri Sakor, Botum Sakor and Koh Kong. The park is under the administration of the Cambodian Ministry of Environment, and a small part of the park is included in the Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project (SCRP). Dara Sakor International Airport
Dara Sakor International Airport is a public use airport in development serving Botum Sakor in Cambodia. It was developed at a cost of $350 million by Chinese-owned Tianjin Union Development Group. The airport will have its first test flights in mid-2023. It will also serve the new Dara Sakor Resort. After a two-year delay, Governor of Koh Kong has announced at a press conference that the airport will begin operations in mid-2023. However, the opening is delayed and the airport is currently still under construction. The airport is to serve as the operational base of Lanmei Airlines. Controversy The airport is strategically positioned, located near Cambodia's largest naval base, Ream Naval Base. The airport's airstrip is unusually long and can host Chinese military aircraft.
