Kirby Minter
James Kirby Minter (born November 23, 1929 – August 11, 2009) was an American basketball player. At a height of 6'6" (1.98 m) tall, he played at the forward position. He was inducted into the Durant Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. In the city of Durant, Oklahoma, January 4 has been named, "Kirby Minter Day". College career Minter, who was born in Marietta, Oklahoma, attended and graduated from Durant High School (Oklahoma), Durant High School in 1947, where he also played high school basketball. After high school, Minter played College basketball at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with the Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm, Savage Storm, from 1947 to 1950. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. United States Men's National Basketball Team
The USA Basketball Men's National Team, commonly known as the United States men's national basketball team, is the basketball team representing the United States. They are the most successful team in international competition, winning medals in all nineteen Olympic tournaments it has entered, including sixteen golds.
