John Kirakosyan
John Kirakosyan ( hy, Ջոն Կիրակոսյան; May 6, 1929 – June 20, 1985) was a Soviet Armenian Foreign Minister from 1975 until his death. He was also a historian and political scientist who was a Doctor of Historical Sciences and a professor at Yerevan State University, where he headed the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Biography Kirakosyan was born in Yerevan, the capital of Soviet Armenia, in 1929. From 1955-1962 he was head of the propaganda division of the monthly of the Communist Party of Armenia, "Leninyan Ughiov". From 1962-1966 he was head of the propaganda division of the party's Central Committee, and from 1966-1969 he served as chairman of the state committee of the Armenian SSR on television and radio broadcasting. From 1969-1975 he was head of the science and education division of the party, and he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Armenian SSR from 1975 until his death in 1985. Arman Kirakossian (Armenian: Արման Կիրակոսյան; 10 September 1956 – 6 July 2019) was an Armenian diplomat and historian. From November 2014 until his death he served as Ambassador of Armenia to Austria as well as Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and International Organizations in Vienna (UNIDO, UNODC, IAEA, CTBTO). Western Armenian
Western Armenian ( Classical spelling: , ) is one of the two standardized forms of Modern Armenian, the other being Eastern Armenian. It is based mainly on the Istanbul Armenian dialect, as opposed to Eastern Armenian, which is mainly based on the Yerevan Armenian dialect. Until the early 20th century, various Western Armenian dialects were also spoken in the Ottoman Empire, especially in the eastern regions historically populated by Armenians known as Western Armenia. Maison Bonfils
Maison Bonfils was a French family-run company producing and selling photography and photographic products from Beirut (then in Ottoman Syria, now in Lebanon) from 1867 until 1918, from 1878 on renamed "F. Bonfils et Cie". The Bonfils ran the first and, in their time, most successful photographic studio in the city. Maison Bonfils produced studio portraits, staged biblical scenes, landscapes, and panoramic photographs. Paul Guiragossian (; 1926 – November 20, 1993) was an Armenian Lebanese painter. Biography Born to Armenian parents, who were survivors of the Armenian genocide, Paul Guiragossian experienced the consequences of exile from a very tender age. Raised in boarding schools, he grew up away from his mother who had to work to make sure her two sons get education. In the early 1940s, Guiragossian and his family moved to Jaffa where he attended Studio Yarkon (1944 - 1945) to start improving his passion for painting. In 1947, the family had to move again and settled in Lebanon. In the 1950s, Guiragossian started teaching art in several Armenian schools and worked as an illustrator.
