Kip Simons
Kip Simons is a retired American gymnast. Simons competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 Olympics and the 1994 and 1995 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, World Championships. Simons competed for Ohio State University. In 1994, his senior year, Simons won the Nissen Award, the "Heisman" of men's gymnastics. Simons credited a hard summer of training between his junior and senior years as propelling him to the next level. Simons has been the gymnastics head coach at the United States Air Force Academy since 2005. He was an assistant coach at the University of California, Berkeley from 2001 to 2005. 1996 Summer Olympics
The 1996 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXVI Olympiad, also known as Atlanta 1996 and commonly referred to as the Centennial Olympic Games) were an international multi-sport event held from July 19 to August 4, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. These were the fourth Summer Olympic Games, Summer Olympics to be hosted by the United States, and marked the centennial of the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, the inaugural edition of the modern Olympic Games. World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for artistic gymnastics governed by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). The first edition of the championships was held in 1903, exclusively for male gymnasts. Since the tenth edition of the tournament, in 1934, women's events are held together with men's events. The FIG was founded in 1881 and was originally entitled FEG (Fédération Européenne de Gymnastique), but changed its name in 1921, becoming the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG); this name change roughly correlates with the actual naming of the World Championships. United States Air Force Academy
The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) is a United States service academy in El Paso County, Colorado, immediately north of Colorado Springs. It educates cadets for service in the officer corps of the United States Air Force and United States Space Force.
