Alfred Kinsey
Alfred Charles Kinsey (; June 23, 1894 – August 25, 1956) was an American sexologist, biologist, and professor of entomology and zoology who, in 1947, founded the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University, now known as the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction. He is best known for writing ''Sexual Behavior in the Human Male'' (1948) and ''Sexual Behavior in the Human Female'' (1953), also known as the Kinsey Reports, as well as for the Kinsey scale. Charles Kinsey (1773June 25, 1849) was a U.S. Representative from New Jersey from 1820 to 1821. Early life and career Kinsey was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1773. He attended the common schools, and in early life engaged in the manufacture of paper. He moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey, Bloomfield Township, Essex County, New Jersey and later to Paterson, New Jersey and New Prospect (now Waldwick, New Jersey, Waldwick), Bergen County, New Jersey, Bergen County, continuing in the pulp and paper industry, paper industry. Shooting Of Charles Kinsey
On July 18, 2016, Charles Kinsey, a behavior therapist, was shot in the leg by a police officer in North Miami, Florida. Kinsey had been retrieving his 27-year-old autistic patient, Arnaldo Rios Soto, who had run away from his group home. Police encountered the pair while they were searching for an armed suicidal man. Kinsey was lying on the ground with his hands in the air, and trying to negotiate between officers and his patient, when he was shot. The officer who shot Kinsey said he had been aiming at the patient, who the officer believed was threatening Kinsey with a gun. Both Kinsey and his patient were unarmed. Following the shooting, Kinsey said he was handcuffed and left bleeding on the ground for 20 minutes without police giving him medical aid. Christine Kinsey (born October 1942) is a Welsh painter, now based in Pembrokeshire. She was the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Chapter Workshops and Centre of the Arts, Cardiff, now called the Chapter Arts Centre. Biography Kinsey was born in Pontypool, and has developed a group of female characters who emerge repeatedly in her paintings. These characters enact roles within the themes that she explores in her work including what it was like to grow up female in the industrial valleys of south east Wales; and ''Cymreictod'' (a sense of feeling, being Welsh). Daniel Chapin Kinsey (January 22, 1902 – June 27, 1970) was an American hurdler and a scholar in physical education. Born in St. Louis, Kinsey attended the University of Illinois, studying education. He won the gold medal in the 110-Metres Hurdles at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. He graduated in 1926 and continued his study in physical education at Oberlin College, where he would also work until 1959. Besides teaching, Kinsey was involved in coaching several school teams and was on the board of several committees and associations, such as the American Olympians Association. Darius Kinsey (1869–1945) was a photographer active in western Washington state from 1890 to 1940. He is best known for his large-format images of loggers and phases of the region's lumber industry. He also photographed locomotives and landscapes and (especially early in his career) did studio work. Kinsey, born in Maryville, Missouri, moved to Snoqualmie, Washington, where he took up photography in 1890. He worked as an itinerant photographer for several years, until meeting Tabitha May Pritts at Nooksack, Washington. The couple married in 1896. The following year, they set up a photo studio in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. They had two children, Dorothea and Darius, Jr. In 1906, the couple moved to Seattle. Donald Kinsey (born May 12, 1953 in Gary, Indiana, United States) is an American guitarist and singer, best known as a member of the Word Sound and Power Band, the reggae backing group for Peter Tosh. Erika Anna Kristina Kinsey (née Wiklund; born 10 March 1988) is a Swedish high jumper. She was European Junior Champion in 2007. Biography Wiklund was born in Nälden on 10 March 1988. She took up sports as a child, playing ice hockey and association football in addition to competing in athletics; she did not start concentrating on the high jump until she was 14. She was a leading age group jumper, clearing 1.86 m in 2004; the jump ranked her fourth on the world youth list that year, and second among athletes born in 1988 or later. Howard Oreon Kinsey (December 3, 1899 – July 26, 1966) was an American tennis player in the 1920s. He was originally from California. Playing record His most significant championships were the 1926 French National men's doubles championship, where he and Vincent Richards beat Henri Cochet and Jacques Brugnon (a pairing who went on to win three other French National doubles titles) in the final, and the 1924 U.S. National men's doubles championship with his brother Robert Kinsey. Bill Tilden wrote of the pair that he had "seldom seen a team work together more smoothly than the Kinseys." In 1926, he reached the Wimbledon final, losing to Jean Borotra. Noel Kinsey (24 December 1925 – 20 May 2017) was a Welsh international footballer who played as an inside right. He won seven international caps and scored 111 goals in 444 league games in a 14-year career in the Football League. He began his career with Norwich City in 1947, helping the "Canaries" to second place in the Third Division South in 1950–51. He transferred to Birmingham City in 1953, helping the club to the Second Division title in 1954–55. He scored in the 1956 FA Cup Final, which ended in a 3–1 defeat to Manchester City. In February 1958 he was signed to Port Vale for a £5,000 fee, and helped the "Valiants" to the Fourth Division title in 1958–59.
