Kinsale King
Kinsale King (foaled 2005) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Dubai Golden Shaheen. Kinsale King's first trainer was Eoin Harty, but he was turned over to trainer Carl O'Callaghan during the 2009 Del Mar Racetrack summer meet. Kinsale King's first stakes win was in the Vernon O. Underwood Stakes at Hollywood Park Racetrack on December 6. He followed that up by winning the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Handicap on January 23, 2010. He won at odds of 9:1 while defeating Breeder's Cup Sprint winner Dancing in Silks. Kinsale King came to fame when he earned his third straight stakes win in the Dubai Golden Shaheen on March 27. His win continued the United States' dominance in that race in which they had won nine of the past eleven renewals. The Del Mar Fairgrounds is a event venue in Del Mar, California. The annual San Diego County Fair is held here, which was called the Del Mar Fair from 1984 to 2001. The Platinum Jubilee Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged four years or older. Three-year-olds foaled in the Southern Hemisphere are also eligible. It is run at Ascot over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in June. Dancing in Silks (foaled March 2, 2005 in California) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 2009 Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita Park. A 4-year-old gelding, Dancing in Silks was bred by Ronald E. Jex. The horse races for Ken Kinakin and is trained by Carla Gaines. Dancing in Silks is the only horse owned by Ken Kinakin, a 48-year-old Canadian businessman from Kelowna, British Columbia. The Breeders' Cup Sprint is an American Weight for Age Grade I Thoroughbred horse race for horses three years old and older. Run on dirt Corrected grade for Santa Anita sprintover a distance of 6 Furlongs ( mile), the race has been held annually since 1984 at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. Automatic Berths Beginning in 2007, the Breeders' Cup developed the Breeders' Cup Challenge, a series of races in each division that allotted automatic qualifying bids to winners of defined races. Each of the fourteen divisions has multiple qualifying races. A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America. The grading system was designed in 1973 and first published in 1974. Hollywood Park Racetrack
Hollywood Park was a thoroughbred race course located in Inglewood, California, about 3 miles (5 km) from Los Angeles International Airport and adjacent to the Forum indoor arena. In 1994, the original Hollywood Park Casino was added to the racetrack complex. Horse racing and training were shut down in December 2013 though the casino operations continued until a new state of the art casino building, the new Hollywood Park Casino, opened in October 2016. The track was demolished in stages from 2014 until 2016 and the area is now the site of a master-planned neighborhood in development named Hollywood Park after the former track. Eoin Harty
Eoin G. Harty (born November 23, 1962, in Dublin, Ireland) is a Thoroughbred racehorse trainer in the United States. From a family of horsemen, Eoin (pronounced Owen) Harty is the fourth generation to be involved in racing. At age sixteen he went to work at the Irish National Stud then a year later moved to the United States, working in the business in California where he still makes his home. Harty worked for notable stables such as that of Allen E. Paulson and eventually became an assistant to trainers John Russell and then Bob Baffert. In 2000, he took charge of the training of two-year-olds for the North American division of Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin Racing. In 2001, Eoin Harty got his big break as he conditioned Godolphin's Tempera who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and earned American Champion Two-Year-Old Filly honors.
