Kinpai (race)
The Kinpai (in Japanese: 金盃), is a Japanese thoroughbred horse race for four-year-olds open only to horses from South Kanto at Ohi Racecourse. It is graded as a South Kanto Grade II. It is run over a distance of 2600 meters (about 13 furlongs) at Ohi Racecourse in Shinagawa, Tokyo in February. Ohi Racecourse
, also known as Tokyo City Keiba (TCK), is located in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1950 for horse racing, on weekends it also hosts one of the largest Tokyo-area flea markets The racecourse is located near Ōi Keibajō Mae Station on the Tokyo Monorail. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered " hot-blooded" horses that are known for their agility, speed, and spirit.
