Cesare Wright is an American documentary filmmaker. Wright completed his MFA in Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. In 2002, Wright received the Louis Sudler Award in Humanities at Rice University for his ethnographic documentary film ''Back to the Primitive'', which explores issues of including human suspension, body modification, S&M performance, and Satanic and Luciferian stage rituals. Wright also worked as a news editor for Fox 26 News in Houston, TX. While filming ''Border Wars'', a documentary about paramilitary civilian activity along the U.S./Mexico border, Wright recorded one of the first documented incursions of Mexican soldiers across the U.S. border. In 2007, Wright directed ''Goals'', a film exploring issues of immigration and assimilation vicariously through sports, which premiered on The Documentary Channel and NYC Media. KRIV (TV)
KRIV (channel 26) is a television station in Houston, Texas, United States, airing programming from the Fox network. It is owned and operated by the network's Fox Television Stations division alongside MyNetworkTV outlet KTXH (channel 20). Both stations share studios on Southwest Freeway in Houston, while KRIV's transmitter is located near Missouri City, Texas. Established in 1971 as an independent station under the KVRL call sign and later as KDOG-TV, channel 26 hit its stride after being sold to Metromedia in 1978; it was then renamed in honor of the Metromedia executive who had encouraged the company to purchase it. Documentary Channel (TV Network)
The Documentary Channel was an American digital cable and satellite television network that featured documentary programming. It aired independent documentary films from around the world, including those not released in the United States. The channel (along with Halogen TV) was replaced by Pivot, a channel aimed at young adults between 18 and 34 years old, that was also owned by Participant Media, and debuted on August 1, 2013. Pivot ceased operations on October 31, 2016, folding the former Documentary Channel channel space. Background Documentary Channel launched in January 2006. The Gracie Family () are a prominent martial arts family originally from Belém, state of Pará, Brazil whose ancestors came from Paisley, Scotland. They are known for creating the self-defense martial arts system of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. They have been successful in combat sports competitions for over 80 years representing their self-defense system (Gracie Jiu-Jitsu) including mixed martial arts (MMA), Vale tudo and submission wrestling events. Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ; pt, jiu-jitsu brasileiro ) is a self-defence martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting (ne-waza) and submission holds.
