Kinga Preis
Kinga Anna Preis (born 31 August 1971, in Wrocław) is a Polish film and theatre actress. Life and career She graduated from Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in 1996. In 2006, she received the Zbigniew Cybulski Award for best young actress. In 2010 Preis was decorated with Golden Cross of Merit. In 2011, she was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. For her roles she won 5 Polish Film Awards and was nominated 10 times. ''Rose'' ( pl, Róża) is a 2011 Polish film directed by Wojciech Smarzowski. It depicts the love story of a Masurian woman and an officer of the Armia Krajowa in postwar Masuria. Plot In summer 1945 Tadeusz, an officer of the Armia Krajowa and veteran of the Warsaw uprising, whose wife was raped and murdered by the Germans, moves to Masuria, a region in former German East Prussia, which became part of Poland as a result of the Potsdam Agreement after World War II. He visits Róża, a widow of a German Wehrmacht soldier whose death Tadeusz had witnessed, to hand over her husband’s possessions. The Lure (2015 Film)
''The Lure'' ( pl, Córki dancingu, lit=Daughters of Dancing) is a 2015 Polish horror musical film directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska. It tells of two sirens who emerge from the waters and perform in a nightclub. One falls in love with a man, and gives up her tail, but loses her voice in the process. The story is a reworking of the 1837 fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen, with inspiration from Smoczyńska's experiences. After a Polish premiere, the film screened at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and Fantasia Film Festival, to positive reviews. Plot Some time in the 1980s, two sirens, Golden and Silver, encounter a rock band, Figs n' Dates, relaxing and playing music on a beach in Poland. They accompany the band back to the nightclub where they regularly perform and begin playing gigs there, performing as strippers and backup singers.
