King Rama IX Memorial Park, , or , is a public park currently under construction in the Dusit district of Bangkok, Thailand. The project was initiated by King Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) to commemorate his father King Bhumibol Adulyadej and mother Queen Sirikit. Suan Luang Rama IX
Suan Luang Rama IX ( th, สวนหลวง ร.9, ), also referred to as (King) Rama IX Park, is a public park in Bangkok's Prawet District. With an area of , it is the largest park in the city. The park was built to celebrate King Bhumibol Adulyadej's sixtieth birthday in 1987, and was opened by the King on 1 December that year. Vajiralongkorn ( th, วชิราลงกรณ; , ; born 28 July 1952) is the King of Thailand. He is the only son of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit. In 1972, at the age of 20, he was made crown prince by his father. After his father's death on 13 October 2016, he was expected to ascend to the throne of Thailand but asked for time to mourn before taking the throne. Queen Sirikit ( th, สิริกิติ์; ; ); born ''Mom Rajawongse'' Sirikit Kitiyakara ( th, สิริกิติ์ กิติยากร; ; 12 August 1932) is the queen mother of Thailand. The Royal Turf Club of Thailand under Royal Patronage ( th, ราชตฤณมัยสมาคมแห่งประเทศไทย ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์) is a sports club in Thailand, formerly located at its historic horse racing venue in Bangkok, which was commonly known as the Nang Loeng Racecourse ().
