King's Bounty
''King's Bounty'' is a turn-based fantasy video game designed by Jon Van Caneghem and published by New World Computing in 1990. The game follows the player's character, a hero of King Maximus, appointed with the job of retrieving the Sceptre of Order from the forces of chaos, led by Arech Dragonbreath. ''King's Bounty'' is notably considered the forerunner of the ''Heroes of Might and Magic'' series of games. A Sega Genesis port was developed and released in North America on February 21, 1991, with a multitude of graphical changes. The gameplay was also modified to incorporate real time overworld exploration. In 2008, a spiritual sequel titled '' King's Bounty: The Legend'' was released. New World Computing
New World Computing, Inc. was an American video game developer and publisher founded in 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem, his wife, Michaela Van Caneghem, and Mark Caldwell. It was best known for its work on the Might and Magic role-playing video game series and its spin-offs, especially Heroes of Might and Magic. The company was purchased by and became a division of The 3DO Company on July 10, 1996 from NTN Communications, after NTN purchased New World Computing for $10 million in stock. Amidst financial turmoil, the 3DO Company laid off a large portion of the staff of New World Computing on April 15, 2002. While a smaller, core staff remained at New World Computing, the following year saw little improvement in parent 3DO's situation, and the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May of that year. A magic item is any object that has magical powers inherent in it. These may act on their own or be the tools of the person or being whose hands they fall into. ''King's Bounty: Armored Princess'' is a strategy video game developed for Microsoft Windows by Katauri Interactive and published in most regions by 1C Company in 2009.
