Kinetta (film)
''Kinetta'' ( el, Κινέτα) is a 2005 Greek experimental psychological drama film produced by Athina Rachel Tsangari and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. It is Lanthimos' solo directorial debut. It was written by Yorgos Lanthimos and Yorgos Kakanakis. It stars Evangelia Randou, Aris Servetalis, and Costas Xikominos. Plot During off-season at the Greek seaside resort of Kinetta, three perfect strangers—a police officer out of uniform with a thing for German luxury cars and Russian women, an eccentric photographer, and a hotel chambermaid—join forces for a rather strange reason: to recreate homicides. Meticulously and with an almost ritualistic approach, the unlikely trio reenact crime scenes of brutal murders, to the point where the boundaries of their own private lives slowly begin to blur. Yorgos Lanthimos
Georgios "Yorgos" Lanthimos ( el, Γιώργος Λάνθιμος, Giórgos Lánthimos, ; born 23 September 1973) is a Greek film director, film producer, screenwriter, photographer, theatre director and former professional basketball player. Since 2015, Lanthimos has transitioned from making films in Greek to making higher-budget English-language films produced in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States. In his English-language career, he has received three Academy Award nominations for his work: Best Original Screenplay for ''The Lobster'' (2015) and Best Director and Best Picture for ''The Favourite'' (2018). The Museum of the Moving Image is a media museum located in a former building of the historic Astoria Studios (now Kaufman Astoria Studios), in the Astoria neighborhood in Queens, New York City. Athina Rachel Tsangari (, ; born 2 April 1966) is a Greek filmmaker. Some of her most notable works include her feature films, '' The Slow Business of Going'' (2000), ''Attenberg'' (2010) and ''Chevalier'' (2015) as well as the co-production of Yorgos Lanthimos' films '' Kinetta'' (2005), '' Dogtooth'' (2009), and ''Alps'' (2011). In her versatile work for cinema, she has also founded and been director of the Cinematexas International Short Film Festival.
