KineticNovel
is a brand of the Japanese software company, software publishing company VisualArt's, Visual Arts. The productions of the KineticNovel label are unlike other visual novels in that no choices are given to the player. They have only one possible outcome. The player can choose when to go to the next dialogue screen or else put the game on autoplay and just sit back and enjoy, analogous to listening to a Compact disc, CD or watching a DVD movie. The majority of KineticNovel's products contain Eroge, adult material of a sexual nature, though all-ages products are produced as well, such as Key (company), Key's ''Planetarian: The Reverie of a Little Planet''. , formerly and previously spelled in English as VisualArt's, is a Japanese publishing company which specializes in publishing and distributing visual novels for a large list of game developers. Visual Arts has developed game engines their brands currently use, including the current engine, called Siglus, and older engines RealLive and AVG32. Visual Arts also handles the distribution of these games. The games published are mostly for a male audience, though they also publish games targeted towards women as well. Key (company)
Key is a Japanese visual novel studio known for making dramatic and plot-oriented titles. It was formed on July 21, 1998, as a brand under the publisher Visual Arts, and is located in Kita, Osaka. Key's debut visual novel '' Kanon'' (1999) combined an elaborate storyline, up-to-date anime-style art, and a musical score which helped to set the mood for the game. Key's second game, ''Air'' (2000), had a similarly complex storyline to ''Kanon'' and a more thorough gameplay. Both ''Kanon'' and ''Air'' were originally produced as adult games, but this trend was broken with Key's third title ''Clannad'' (2004), released for all ages. Prototype (company)
is a Japanese video game publisher established on March 27, 2006 by Toshio Tabeta, a former producer of Interchannel. While still with Interchannel, Tabeta's team was responsible for mainly developing and publishing versions of visual novels originally published by VisualArt's for consumer platforms like the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. After Prototype split off from Interchannel, the company still continued to work with VisualArt's. Prototype is also involved in producing mobile phone ports through VisualArt's Motto which Prototype manages.
