Kincaid is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fayette County, West Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 260. Kincaid is located on West Virginia Route 61, northwest of Oak Hill. Kincaid has a post office with ZIP code 25119. The community was established in 1878. Kincaid family In 1807, James Kincaid and his wife Mary Tritt Kincaid moved from old Virginia and settled in Greenbrier County. They were not favorably impressed with the location and moved further to the west, thus establishing the present-day community. Of Scotch-Irish descent, the Kincaids became "one of the largest most influential, best-known families that settled in Fayette county." Kincaid Park
Kincaid Park is a municipal park in Anchorage, Alaska, located at 9401 W. Raspberry Road. The park is bounded on the south by Turnagain Arm, on the west by Knik Arm, and on the north by Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Noted for Nordic skiing trails, in snowless months the park is frequented by runners, bikers, hikers, archers, dog-trainers, motocross users, disc golfers, soccer teams, and rollerskiers. Other winter activities include snowshoeing, sledding and biathlon. The park was created in 1978 and later expanded to include the location of a deactivated former Nike missile site. The Kincaid Mounds Historic Site ( 11MX2-11; 11PO2-10) , is a Mississippian culture archaeological site located at the southern tip of present-day U.S. state of Illinois, along the Ohio River. Kincaid Mounds has been notable for both its significant role in native North American prehistory and for the central role the site has played in the development of modern archaeological techniques. The site had at least 11 substructure platform mounds (it ranks fifth among known sites of this period for the number of such structures), and 8 other monuments. Artifacts from the settlement link its major habitation and the construction of the mounds to the Mississippian culture period. It is 140 miles from Cahokia, the major center of Mississippian culture in North America. The Kincaid site was also occupied earlier by indigenous peoples of the Late Woodland period. ''The Brothers K'' is a 1992 novel by David James Duncan, an author, fisherman, and environmental advocate from the Pacific Northwest. It builds on the sporting and spiritual themes of ''The River Why'', Duncan's first book, but on a much larger canvas, focusing on an entire family instead of a single protagonist.
