Kimani Jones
Kimani Jones (born December 21, 1981) is a former American football offensive lineman. Prior to his Arena Football career, he played football at Arkansas State University; as a senior, Jones earned First Team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. In 2008, following his departure from Arkansas State, Jones joined the Arena Football League's Cleveland Gladiators. As a rookie, Jones appeared in all sixteen of the team's regular season games; moreover, he caught six passes for twenty yards and a touchdown. His career was interrupted by the AFL's 2009 decision to suspend operations; during this time, Jones signed with the Omaha Beef of the Indoor Football League, where he earned Second Team All-IFL honors. When the league returned in 2010, Jones signed on with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. He appeared in eleven games during his lone season with the team. Offensive Lineman
In gridiron football, a lineman is a player who specializes in play at the line of scrimmage. The linemen of the team currently in possession of the ball are the offensive line, while linemen on the opposing team are the defensive line. A number of NFL rules specifically address restrictions and requirements for the offensive line, whose job is to help protect the quarterback from getting sacked for a loss, or worse, fumbling. 2008 Arena Football League Season
The 2008 Arena Football League season was the 22nd season of the Arena Football League and final season before the 2009 season cancellation and subsequent bankruptcy of the original AFL corporate entity. The regular season began play on February 29, 2008 and concluded on June 22.
