Kim Yong-min (politician)
Kim Yong-min (, born 5 June 1976) is a South Korean lawyer and politician and, since 2020, the Member of the National Assembly for Namyangju 3rd constituency. He is one of the prominent pro-Cho Kuk MPs, along with Kim Nam-kuk and Choe Kang-wook. Early career Born in Seoul, Kim attended Younghoon High School before majoring in law at Hanyang University. He also studied for a Master of Engineering at KAIST. After qualifying for the bar in 2003, he had been working at the Korean Bar Association and for Lawyers for a Democratic Society (LDS), of which he was the deputy secretary-general. In 2013, he defended '' Naneun Ggomsuda'' sued for breaching the Public Official Election Act. He was also in charge of defending Yoo Woo-seong, a North Korean defector who was falsely accused as a spy. Gangbuk District (Gangbuk-gu) is one of the 25 '' gu'' which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. Its name is derived from it being located at the north of Han river. The ''Maeil Business Newspaper'' is South Korea's main daily business newspaper. , it had a circulation of roughly 900,000. The president of the publishing company is Chang Dae-hwan. The publishing company Maekyung Media Group also hosts the annual World Knowledge Forum. The first edition of the newspaper was published on March the 24th, 1966, and had 12 pages in its inaugural issue. An upset occurs in a competition, frequently in electoral politics or sports, when the party popularly expected to win (the "favorite"), either loses to or draws/ties a game with an underdog whom the majority expects to lose, defying the conventional wisdom. 2021 Democratic Party Of Korea Leadership By-election
The Democratic Party of Korea held its leadership by-election on 2 May 2021 following the resignation of the incumbent Lee Nak-yon in March 2021. Lee stepped down from party leader due to party rule which bans any party contender for president from holding party position at least for a year before the presidential election. Newly-elected leader of the party will serve for the remainder of Lee's term which ends in August 2022 and may replace two unelected members of the Supreme Council currently held by Park Seong-min and Park Hong-bae who were appointed by Lee in 2020. They will also command party's campaign in the 20th 2022 South Korean presidential election, presidential election in March 2022 and the 8th local election in June 2022.
