Kim Woo-jin (archer)
Kim Woo-jin (Hangul: 김우진; or ; born June 20, 1992) is a South Korean archer specializing in recurve archery. He first held the world number one ranking ranking in 2011. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he set a world record in men's individual recurve archery and received a gold medal as a member of the South Korean men's archery team. He is a three-time world champion in the men's individual recurve event at the World Archery Championships. He is right-handed, and uses arrows and a draw weight of . At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he won an Olympic gold medal as a member of the South Korean men's archery team, which defeated the United States in the men's team archery final. He is a student, and lives in Chungju. 2015 World Archery Championships
The 2015 World Archery Championships was the 48th edition of the event. It was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 26 July to 2 August 2015 and was organised by World Archery Federation (formerly known as FITA). Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Sundby Idrætspark, with the medal matches on 1–2 August outside the Danish Parliament building Christiansborg Palace. The competition was preceded by the World Archery Congress on 24–25 July. The programme featured was the same as previous World Championships, with individual, team, and mixed team events in the compound and recurve disciplines. A record number of athletes has entered: 623 archers across the four disciplines. As well as participation, the Championships also broke public engagement and awareness records. 2010 Asian Games
The 2010 Asian Games (), officially known as the XVI Asian Games () and also known as Guangzhou 2010 (), was a regional multi-sport event celebrated from November 12 to November 27, 2010 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, although several events commenced earlier on November 7, 2010. It was the second time China had hosted the Asian Games, with the first one being Asian Games 1990 hosted in Beijing. Guangzhou's three neighboring cities, Dongguan, Foshan and Shanwei co-hosted the Games. Premier Wen Jiabao opened the Games along the Pearl River in Haixinsha Island. The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Competition rules and scoring The compound legs consisted of a 50m qualification round of 72 arrows, followed by the compound round at 50m on a 6-zone target face, using cumulative scoring for all individual, team and mixed competitions. 2012 Archery World Cup
The 2012 Archery World Cup was the 7th edition of the annual international archery circuit, organised by the World Archery Federation. As 2012 was an Olympic year, the World Cup consisted of three, not four legs. The best individual and mixed performers in each discipline over the three legs then joined host representatives in qualifying for the finals. After failing to be selected for the Korean Olympic team, Kim Woo-jin defeated defending champion Brady Ellison in a one arrow shoot-off to win the men's individual recurve world cup final for the second time, while fellow Korean Ki Bo-bae defeated top seed Deepika Kumari to add her first world cup victory to her Olympic title. Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category (from 2010, four archers during 2006-09) advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. The 2019 World Archery Championships were held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands from 10 to 16 June 2019. The event served as a qualifier for the Archery at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Summer Olympics, with each men's and women's team that made the quarter-finals earning three quota places for the respective team.
