Kim Stephens
Kim Caldwell () is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers. She previously served in the same role at Marshall for one season, where she was named the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) Coach of the Year and received the Maggie Dixon Award as the top Division I rookie head coach in 2024. Prior to Marshall, Caldwell made a name for herself as coach of the Glenville State Pioneers. During her seven-year tenure there, the team won six regular season conference championships, four conference tournament championships, made six NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, and won the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship. The United States Marine Corps/WBCA National Coach of the Year is an award given by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association to best women's basketball Head Coaches in college and high schools since 1983. The 2018 NCAA Division II women's basketball tournament involved 64 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the NCAA Division II women's college basketball national champion. It began on March 9, 2018, and concluded with the championship game on March 23, 2018. The first three rounds were hosted by top-seeded teams in regional play. The University of Tennessee at Martin (UT Martin or UTM) is a public university in Martin, Tennessee. It is one of the five campuses of the University of Tennessee system. Pat Summitt
Patricia Susan Summitt (; June 14, 1952 – June 28, 2016) was an American women's college basketball head coach who accrued 1,098 career wins, the most in college basketball history at the time of her retirement. She served as the head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team from 1974 to 2012. Summitt won a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal as a member of the United States women's national basketball team. She returned to the Olympics in 1984 as a head coach, guiding the U.S. women's basketball team to a gold medal. Summitt won eight NCAA Division I basketball championships. In 38 years as coach of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, she never missed the NCAA Tournament nor did she ever have a losing season. The NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States, currently featuring 68 Women's sports, women's college basketball teams from the NCAA Division I, Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), to determine the national championship. The tournament was preceded by the AIAW women's basketball tournament, which was organized by the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) from 1972 to 1982.
